I miss the 80’s so much 😢

The 1985 Bears' defense was the equivalent of the 1999 Rams' offense. Both were a once-in-generation show to behold.

Been a Bears fan since 1971 wonder if i will ever see that Chicago Bears dominant play ever again? Caleb Williams might be our savior 🙏

This was the "revenge" game for the Bears. The 49ers did some things the Bears thought disrespectful in the NFC playoffs the previous year.. and Ditka was not one to forget a slight. They didn't come out to play San Fran - they came out to punish and humiliate them.
Also... kind of crazy to think this was Jerry Rice's first start.

The Bears needed to send a BIG Thank You card to the officiating crew of this one, There were 'only' 94 yards in penalties against SF, but this is a misnomer, because they also negated several explosive plays, including one TD. And several of these calls were very, very questionable to say the least. The Bears were the 'darlings' of the NFL at the moment.

Play #2.

Walter Payton cuts down a defensive end in pass protection.

And that, folks, is yet another reason why Walter is the 🐐. Not just running back. Football player.

Da bears da bulls 😂

Friendly nitpick. First of all, thank you so much for the 85 Bears uploads. I see your Monsters of the Midway list in the description. In reference to the 85 Bears, I thought that was a nickname for the defense. However, if you are going to include the offense, I think someone is missing from the list. (He was a big part of the fun that year and he scored a Superbowl touchdown.)

Brodie halftime commentary never bettter. ' Throw off your back foot, problems. Brodie knew, his next comment: ' He's gonna do it again.'...But meant in career after this day. Mac minimized those but Brodie, a great QB IF with running game, and protection in his day, NOT wrong!

The great Dick Stockton on the call

This game was Jerry Rice's first start. Did OK, but his best days were ahead of him. Years after he retired, Rice said his rookie struggles were due to the complexity of the 49ers playbook vs what he had at Miss Valley St.

My God !! Dick Stockton? Where's Madden / Summerall?

McMahon was right about Chicago. Looking at this and knowing the bears haven't changed; it is where quarterbacks go to die. Who came up with these stupid plays? Like running a screen pass coming off of a fumble recovery instead of going for the end zone?

Wow, I sure hope the Bears win in the unseen fourth quarter

@sonnymacklin5269 1 year ago

Wayne Walker good commentary. ' They both got caught.' Referring to offsetting penalties... Though I think zebras had dough on Bears this day...

I dont know why Joe Montana is rated so high. If not for his receivers he would have a terrible record.

The color commentator is AWFUL. Who is this guy? He knows as much about football as my cat.

Where is the 4th quarter??

Too funny. a lifetime ago but.... Probably rigged. Though 2nd half showed '46 Defense.... Niner 1st half fumbles? First half? Stop. A Bears day because their year...real
