These old games are so great. So much better than football today.

Last meaningful Cowboys vs 49ers game in the 1980s.

Michael Carter is rarely mentioned as a great 49er. Such a shame.

As a 12 year old 49er fan watching this game, I didn't appreciate what a battle this was at the time.  Clash of the Titans.  For anyone that thinks the 49ers were finesse or all about offense, this game and the 49er defense on display is a good reminder of why this team was the dynasty of the '80's.  Hats off to Gary Hogaboom who played lights out against a HOF secondary and a nasty 49er D line and linebacker core.

How can Roger Craig not be in the Hall of Fame?

My best friend/boss and myself were at this game, witnessing history.
Roger Craig established the record of 1000 x 1000 that Sunday in the Park.
Took almost another generation until Marshall Falk would add his name.

Montana to Clark touchdown was a beauty. Idc what anyone says, Montana is the GOAT

That's the game where Ronnie Lott broke his finger and actually chose to  amputate the top of his finger just so he could play in the playoff game against the Giants where they lost.

Landry's team performed well this season despite being thin on both sides of the ball.

1:31:29 Pat Sommerall predicts the future.

Dwight Clark said he had unusually long lungs which helped his endurance according to Mr. Summerall. My brother also had extra long lungs.  The Drs could not get the bottom third of his lungs in a standard chest x-ray.  They had to take two days.  Top and bottom.  He had amazing strength too.

My boys the 49ers rule

Love to watch these old games...Camelot Walsh called it.
I noticed the vendetta Ronnie Lott had on Tony Dorsett. Bam!

Our Glory years. We were such a great team

The 80s was some hurting years for me as a cowboys fan the niners and bears and redskins and rams kicked our behind most often

This is more like trench warfare. Modern football is SOFT. thx for vids. SRHS 95,96,99

Look at how many great teams there were in NFC during the 80's.  That tells you how good the 49ers were and how good #16 was.  Tom Brady winning 6 SB's is impressive but he didn't face the level of talent the 49ers faced week in/week out during the 80's.

The Niners made a habit of smacking the Cowboys in the 80s

Hogeboom has to be the slowest elusive scrambler ever

This is what’s supposed to happen in Philly on Sunday, we’ll see... at the time this was the most physical game ever. Both teams thought it was the Super Bowl
