This took some workkkk

The craziest thing about this album is that the original album cover when this was released in 2000 was a guy jumping through a bonfire holding a bottle of wild turkey whisky at one of the lead singer Phil’s house parties and decided to use it as the album cover 😂

Fun fact: Death Rattle was re-recorded without Phil Anselmo and given the title Pre-Hibernation as it was featured in the season 2 episode of SpongeBob SquarePants titled Pre-Hibernation Week. You can find the track on the album, SpongeBob SquarePants Original Theme Highlights. Also, the track Avoid the Light is from the soundtrack for the movie Dracula 2000, which is why the lyrics are very vampiric.

Black men reacting to typically "white" music is my new favorite genre of YT video.
I wish more black men liked this music so I could get the homies to come to the shows when good bands come to Detroit 😅

Do me a favor and listen to Down's NOLA album, it is Phil from Pantera on vocals, Pepper Keenan from Corrosion Of Conformity, Kirk Weindstein from Crowbar, it is the ultimate bro. I know you may not even see this, but by far one of my fav albums of all time. Southern New Orleans sludge which hits hard AF in such a way I was forever changed listening to it

Spongebob : "Life's as extreme as you wanna make it!"

25:41 Goddamn I love that they put this song on Spongebob, I mean "Life's as extreme as you wanna make it" 😎🤙

When I played college baseball back in 2003, “Revolution Is My Name” was my intro music over the PA in our home stadium when I came out of the bullpen to pitch. Love this album!

Cat scratch fever (Ted Nugent cover)
Hole in the sky & electric funeral (Black Sabbath cover)

46:35 i like to imagine this part of ill cast a shadow is the insane wrap up of everything that pantera has done. this is the end of the cowboys from hell, the end of vulgar displays of far beyond trends killed in the south during their reign and reinventing of steel, this last sequence of music marks their final mark on the world and music as a whole , but the song itself stands as the aftermath of their doing.

I've listened to all of Pantera albums, RIP Dimebag!!

i’m the biggest pantera fan ever and it’s been so fun watching you react to pantera the same way i listen to it every day, the energy is always there with pantera, something very few bands have accomplished

You will absolutely fucking love Machine Head's two first albums. Start with Burn My Eyes, I can't wait lmao.

You MUST listen to New Found Power by Damage Plan, this is the band that the Pantera guitarist formed with his brother after the band split up

avoid the light was a soundtrack to a dracula or vampire movie hence the title and the theme.
i agree with comments you should continue the journey and check out both Superjoint ritual and Down as well as Damage Plan to really absorb full legacy of the members.

That I'll Cast a Shadow breakdown is dope af.

Feels illegal to be THIS early

These videos made me realize again how fucking good Pantera actually was lol, how can one band make 5 continuously such a level of albums, its hard to try to find not a bad but "average" song between these albums, its mostly bangers. They own 90s metal completely. and also imagine having song like "Avoid Lights" off album like that, what a masterpiece lol.

I love that you did the bonus tracks. “Avoid the Light” is so underrated.
