Danny Gatton Track 1 from Taste of DC October 8, 1993. I captured the entire 90 minute show of one of the greatest guitarists of all time with his outstanding band. I got bumped around alot and it was hard keeping the lens in focus while shooting through a chain link fence so this is what it is. Hopefully more to come.

Danny was just plain born that way.
Along with his jaw-dropping talent Danny was also a really nice, wonderful human being.

In my 53 plus years of playing and being over 68... he covered all bases. Simply the best. .. there were and are other great players but this man was the best... not open for debate!

Danny was just one of those amazingly rare players who can translate what he's thinking IMMEDIATELY to his fingers, without having to have pre-planned licks to fall back on. Anything he could think up, he could and would play. An astounding guitarist.

1 of my favourite tracks it gets movn what a player have most of his stuff. Still trying to learn, have his 88 elmira st book had it for years. My favourite electric player

As a pro musician, when people ask the question "who is the greatest guitarist ever?", my answer is " you mean beside Danny Gatton ? "

I met Danny 2 months before this on a ferry boat gig his band played on Lake Champlain: he was very down to earth and pleasant. I even got to ask him about his arch nemesis, Roy Buchanan, which he hesitantly discussed with me.
Sad ending to a fabulous player....The Humbler, indeed.
