If there had been internet like today back in the 90s, maybe he'd have been able to build a Youtube following and make a decent income from that without having to depend on the "music industry". Such a loss.

The writer of the segment really plays up the "look what we found under this rock!" aspect, but for folks who lived in the D.C. metro area in the 1970s and 1980s, if you were tuned into the local music scene at all, you had some idea of who Gatton was. And of course that Guitar Player cover story was a pretty big deal, though it's only given a passing mention here. C'est la local TV news...
