Possibly the finest guitarist to ever walk on Earth. He was a musical encyclopedia. I don't think there was ever a guitarist before or after him that had more ability to cover so many styles as he did, and so effortlessly.

Just another video that tells me that this guy was the best guitarist in my lifetime. Things should have gone differently for him.

Man this guy could play anything and in any style- greatly missed

Danny Gattons playing brings tears to my eyes.Any guitar player who thinks they've "Got it" needs to check Out Danny Gatton.

Best guitarist ever (jazz, country, RnR, Blues, etc.)

That is a Master Guitar player, a player that can communicate with the other Musicians using everything he was born with. Eyes, head, feet, etc. Thanks for posting.

He should be playing at Carnegie Hall not the freakin' Holiday Inn.

You could just see the genius stirring in Danny's eyes...there will never be another one like him... ever..😏😏

This guys playing gives me the chills. His playing is from another world.

Danny could take that ES 295 and go from rockabilly to jazz or whatever he wanted. It's so true, he could play anybody's music but nobody could play like him. Rest in peace Danny, we'll always miss you but will never forget you.

Danny Gatton didn't know what to do with the world, once it was offered to him. I think he didn't want it. So the world didn't know what to do with him. I think that's one of the reasons why he left.

My favorite guitar player, that ever lived. Period.

A Holiday Inn lobby gig?!?....the most extravagant icing on any musical cake, to date. Period

Not even his niche...unbelievable. It it wasn't filmed, I won't believe it...yet I totally believe he would have MURDERED it.

And here it is....

Effortless . He is still my favorite . Along with  Shawn Lane . Both gone now but Immortalized here on You Tube .

His mastery of the guitar was breath taking, he was incredible. R.I.P. Danny.

Nice one.Never seen this 'til now. The Humbler strikes again !

Danny was such an unbelievable talent. There are genuinely so few that are or were so naturally gifted in all facets of music.

There's something in the relaxed but focused look in danny's eyes when he played that tells us we are observing a genius at work...he had the universe in his hands!

They guy could play any style as if that was his only.

its hard 2 take, watching dan play so much knowledge.thank god for these u tube clips there's always something nu 2 learn

Notice how he doesn't even look at his fretting hand while playing difficult chord chops octaves etc.he was one with the instrument.
