The 810 was my first nice amp. I used it with a pair of ADS-710 speakers. Still have both, but the amp needs some TLC. My main receiver now is a restored Sansui - 9090DB.
One of the sine waves between right and left channels on the final scoping was slightly advanced compared to the other. Would that mean the right and left channels are a bit out of phase? Probably not enough to be heard? Excellent restoration!
Interesting fact on Transformer , and probable explains why mine gets so warm (not hot). I avg. where I live 115V - 119V, never ever seen 120V, let alone 126V that you claim to have.
I have an CA-810 that has issue with the volume and balance knob. I've tried cleaning them but, still no good. The Volume knob makes lots of noise through the speaker when turned. Do you still accept items for repair? If so, how does one get ahold of you? I love this amp, but its now just collecting dust. Thank you.
Any special technique needed when pulling the output transistors out of their TO-3 sockets? Just remove two screws and pull out? Inverse for re-installation?
Hello sir, i understand it’s been 5years ago. Could you tell me ….i have 2 resistors on my PCB board for the lights. Did you replaced two of them or just one for 8.2k..? To install led bulbs. Thank you!
Thanks . Really good video. In 3 days going to pick up this amp (350 km in one way). As the owner sad, he has it for 40+ years, never had any problem. Nobody Touched it inside - what I like. I'm an industrial electrician for more then 25 years, and in this aria, my last project for fun was sansui au 7900, the owner was happy. Hope this video will be very helpful to restore a new toy. Right now I have KEF 104/2 and Tannoy srm 12x with only one amp - Marantz PM 8005. Hope this amp will work well with one of those speakers. (They are realy different :)
