I’ve always bought private……. The only advice I would say is don’t just look at the Vehicle look at the people you’re buying it from …….. I bought some amazing cars off  private sellers over the years

Worked in used car sales for many years and heard all the tales from customers who’ve been told cars are immaculate just to get you to drive there on the hope that you’ll buy it anyway many dealers also photoshop pictures to make them appear better than they are, what have they got to lose ? Nothing you’re the only one who’s made an investment with your time ! As others have said get a video walk round before travelling and scrutinise service history as I Know of dealers stamping service books up with moody stamps and ticking boxes for cam belt changes that haven’t been done also check MOT history and don’t part with your hard earned unless absolutely satisfied. Good luck with the search 🤞👍🏻🇬🇧

I searched for almost a year before found suitable T5 & we had to drive from Paisley to South Wales but I had many chats call ect with seller & he was gutted it had to go. You will find right one in time but as you say so many that don’t describe them properly for various reason. Sellers should realise buyers can travel miles & at large cost with fuel now so nice to be honest with pics / description. Don’t give up guys 🤞

I'm sorry to see you have experienced that bullsh*t sellers.
It takes a lot of time to find a clean approved vehicle and also some luck.

Exciting times I’m looking forward to seeing you guys back on your travels in a van Something will come along soon 🙏

Very disappointing for you. Keep trying, you'll get there in the end. I'm pleased you were looking at transporters. I"m  thinking that's right for you

If you sold a brand new van you had converted because it was unreliable, how on earth are you expecting a t6 with 100k on it to be reliable?

Always ask for a walk around video, particularly if travelling any distance - any genuine seller would happily oblige

Dont give up guys. There is a good van out there for you im sure.

Always always buy Private and I have always said buy with your eyes. The 70 plate was far too cheap if it quacks like a duck and  looks like a duck well say no more. Keep looking if your heart is set you will find your van. But lok at other manufactures all good vans these days and remember buy with your eyes.

That's why you get the seller to do a video walking around the vehicle first before you set off on a 4 hour round trip journey. Also, is it possible to use a wider angled lens guys? I feel like I almost see what you had for breakfast its that close 😅

Go for a used MH,usually lowish miles and no financial outlay as its all there already.A shower, heating ,fridge etc.

It’s a bloody minefield mate and just worrying all the time 👍

Have you thought about getting a L2H2 fiat ducato and then doing a basic conversion. Other makes of L2H2s are available

Get selller to do a video  walk round with you before  going to view

Have you thought about stepping away from volkswagens, there's much better and more reliable vans out there, and cheaper
Good luck with the  search

That first transporter looks to be at the garage at Mottram. K kars ?

Offer a price that reflects  low ball

The guy was being hugely dishonest with you but I don’t think the word Scamming is accurate but that’s just semantics. I would have asked for pictures of all damage before I drove two hours. Best of luck with your search, you get there. 👍

Thats why you chose new last time as most secondhand stuff is total rubbish and you dont know what your getting ! ——————- and a waste of time
