The A button vs the B button

Beating Mario 3, no warp whistles, the long way, with every single level in a single sitting is still the greatest accomplishment of my childhood in 1990.

Today marks the 10 year anniversary of Chibi Robo Ziplash

I think if there is one game that can top SMB3, it's SMW.
I think if there is one game that can top SMW, it's SMB3.

I don’t think we properly appreciated the theater play aesthetic of SM3 as kids

That is actually a great point, here in Brazil wherever someone mentions "the old mario" it's a 50%/50% chance of being SM3 or World. Both are top tier nevertheless

Scott saying “I’ve done a bit of research” made me laugh. Scott, you have done the most research.

To me, SMB 3 is like an athlete who comes in and blows everything away with a new technique no one ever saw. And SMW is like the athlete who studied that technique and came in after to break the record.

3:00 Me. Still have the cards.

Getting mixed messages when you say Mario 3 comes out on top while the Mario World credits music is playing, lol

Uploading a Mario video on Chibi-Robo! Zip Lash's 10-year anniversary of its release in Japan, and not acknowledging its existence feels like a pretty fitting way to celebrate.

Something that I think is interesting is that the NES and SNES had basically the same resolution. The SNES looks way more detailed because it could display more colors at once. Mario sprite in 3 and World are about the same size.

I’m still waiting for that L button video fam.

It's Very tough battle, it's a VERY close call

These games were like a gang war to Nintendo YouTubers in the early 2010s

7:37 I don't know why the inclusion of footage of mario dying like 3 seconds into a level made me laugh so much...

8:15 I think in musical terms, it’s called a leitmotif. It’s basically where a memorable portion of a previous music piece is incorporated into the new music track.

For me, Mario 3 is like a good burger with all the different toppings and condiments - all the bells and whistles; while Super Mario World is just a double cheeseburger but, like, the beef is the best beef and the bun is the best bread and the cheese is the tastiest cheese - more simplistic but each element incredibly focused.

Super Mario World was the first game I ever played and it's also my favorite ever game in part due to that... but over the years I've realized just how incredible BOTH these games are and how difficult it is to compare them and my feeling now is if a person liked one over the other or said one is better than the other: they're correct, regardless of their answer, it's a totally valid one because both really are amazing 😊

Average Scott's Stash video
1 minute of intro with funny ancdote
2 minutes of summarization of each game, pros cons and gameplay
27 minutes of Scott staring at two cartridges saying over and over "I don't know, I just don't know. This is so difficult, they're both such good games.......... [Repeat until 4th ad finished]
5 seconds of saying his decision
1 seconds of outro
