Powerful enough to make my childhood

It's not the size of your power, it's how you use it, and the 3DS always left me satisfied.

The fact that the 3DS was powerful enough to run Kid Icarus Uprising was impressive to me

At 65 years old and some recent extremely successful Cataract Surgery I still play my New 3ds weekly  its still a fun and unique system 😊

A video like this for the PSP would be interesting, considering how often it's referred to as a portable PS2.

In the beginning you forgot the touchscreen's 320x240 pixels, those also need to be rendered, even if most of the time they are 2D elements! =P
That makes 268.800 pixels, assuming all pixels get rendered every frame. =)

18:50 what I think is so cool about the smash 4 models is the LOD scaling. When you pause the game, it swaps out the lower poly fighting models with much higher quality ones, so you don't even notice. It's super impressive especially when you see the actual fighting models

Surprised there was no mention of Yoshi's Wooly World.  They made some changes but it was still very impressive to have a Wii U game running so well on the 3DS.

Very powerful actually. I was able to compile 3DS games in Unity since I knew a licensed Nintendo developer back during the 3DS times and you could do quite a lot of unoptimized scene building before the performance dipped.

I've recently dug mine out to replay Ocarina of Time and I'm still blown away by not just the 3D effect but the graphics too, they've in my opinion held up really well! Still a top tier console at 15 years old

I always considered Smash 3DS as Brawl Lite visually, and Mario 3D Land as a companion to Galaxy visually. Lots of DNA shared between the Wii and 3DS between games and the system overall.

2:34 It's not that the horizontal lines are filled in when the 3D is on. Those horizontal lines are actually the gaps between the pixels, like any screen would have. The reason it's harder to make out vertical lines as easily is because of the fact that it's 800x240. Each pixel is a 1:2 ratio, not perfectly square, so they're packed in tighter horizontally than vertically. Turning on the 3D makes it so each pixel is only visible to 1 eye at a time, so it doesn't fill in the horizontal lines, it "removes" every other vertical line

5:28 I think we also need to keep in mind that the redesigned the game knowing it’s on a far smaller screen. So it’s highly possible that the ghosts transparency being less was to ensure a player could actually see it. Smaller screen means less visible fine detail.

When I think of the 3DS's graphics, I think of glossy lighting and raw unfiltered pixels.

I always considered the 3ds like a portable game cube.

I loved my 3DS and still love it now after modding it. Failing cartridge media made me take the plunge and I can't see myself going back. Brilliant console.

Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance looked incredible, especially with the 3D effect on.

I know we have the Switch 2 now but I would LOVE to see what Nintendo could do if they made a DS-style handheld with modern mobile technology

Games like DQ8 and Tales of the Abyss were really cool to see ported to a handheld like the 3DS, kinda wish we got more PS2 game ports like those
