In Memory Of Peter Cullen 🥺😭🙏🏻

Goodbye Cowboy 🥺😭🙏🏻

It's the conflict of not being able to let go when it's time to go because you've spent years putting everyone else first

'Awakening' is meta-textual: it's about us as fans learning to let go of the hurt of the death of Optimus Prime as kids, and accepting growth and change and letting go now that we are adults. Our hero can now rest because we must now grow up and become our own heroes.

Megatron represents those who refuse to move on, forever locked in a cycle of the violence we perpetuate against ourselves (think toxic fandoms).

Rodimus Primal hits the nail on the head.

Farewell, Peter. Have your well earned rest with your brother

It means 40 years later, Hasbro still doesn't understand their greatest hero.

I thought it was about Prime learning that he needed to let go so that Hot Rod could become Rodimus and use the Matrix to destroy Unicron. Dropping the Matrix and walking into the light seemed to symbolize that.

But then it ends with Megatron finding the Matrix, which messes up the whole thing. So now, I have no idea what it was about.

I wish when they had done that short, it was drawn, instead of using cgi.

I went to see the movie in the same cinema I first saw it 40 years ago.

Till All Are One Everyone

Peter Cullen voiced my fave hero of all-time in Optimus Prime. Awakening had me emotional. He impacted in my life & made Transformers my childhood.

There are 20 years of continuity between Season 2 and Season 3 that is completely untouched.

I think you may have misheard that he needs to come back, the One was telling him that in every universe he comes back and just continues the same war, He needs to move forward and let his passing bring everything to all becoming one.

+1 for a whole new season of G1 Transformers. Lets go while some of the voice actors are still alive

My personal theory on this short film is that this is what Optimus went through before returning in Return of Optimus Prime, the light he goes through at the end while saying to light our darkest hour is him referring to the hate plague.

But that’s just my personal headcanon

Happy 40th Anniversary Of The Transformers The Movie G1 Loud Of (1986)🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

The touch is still one of my favorites from the soundtrack in that movie. No matter how many times I’ve seen it.

I’d love to see what happened between 86’ and 2005’.  How did the Decepticons get control of Cybertron? Where did Hotrod, Springer, Kup, Magnus all come from?  Did a bunch of other Autobots die?  There is so much they could do with that window of time.

It felt weird, it was like, telling Optimus that it’s wrong for him to fight this war because it’s unending, but he’s not the one perpetuating the conflict, he’s a defender, he’s fighting reactively. If anything that was his flaw, not being proactive or trying for decisive finality, his flaw wasn’t fighting to protect his loved ones and the innocent. The voice never suggests an alternative, it just tells Optimus he should stop fighting, even though terrible things will happen if he does. I was waiting for the reveal that this was a test of his determination, but it never came.

My impression was that across the transformers multiverse, Optimus Prime is trapped in a cycle of death and resurrection - and that what this afterlife experience was pushing him towards was breaking that cycle between these phases. It was kept ambiguous enough that we'd all analyze it to bits (and that future TF creators might riff on this idea, coming to different outcomes).

I was lucky to experience all this in 4D!
