Very thought provoking discussion. I enjoyed listening to it very much. Just another point to add.... I'm a Canadian, a very proud Canadian as are most of us. It's an absolute fact that President Trump's (and other officials such as the US Ambassador to Canada) threats, insults, lies and total lack of respect for Canada and its citizens have really, and I do mean really pissed off most of us up here. We are all very offended and our level of trust in the US is super low. Many Canadians feel sorry for Americans, but we've moved on and are rapidly becoming more comfortable with fewer dealing with our southern neighbours. We aren't waiting for the next wave of insults and threats to take their toll on us. We, through our wonderful Prime Minister and his teams, are taking control of our destiny. To be clear, the path will not entirely eliminate our dealings with the Americans, not at all. But it will be vastly reduced and hence deconcentrated. We know the US has lots of wonderful and educated people. But there are too many US citizens who lack sufficient critical thinking skills to better question what's going on. It's actually incredible to see and listen to some of these folks. And btw, it's not just Canadians seeing it. The whole world thinks the same way. They're seeing the same things.

I am a Canadian woman who loves history and follows Heather Cox Richardson by reading Letters from an American as well as watching her videos.  Many Canadians are offended by the Trump Regime.  We are boycotting US products and staying away from vacations in the US because of the politics right now.

Love Heather - she is a voice of reason and hope.

Lucky you, getting HCR as a guest.

She’s amazing!  I watch everything she puts out.

You young men are so lucky to have HCR on your podcast! Hopefully others of your generation will listen, learn and be cognizant about her knowledge ❣️

HCR has been super busy! This is great because we get to hear more of her :)

Trust. The strength of the USA was trust. Now, no one in the world trusts the USA. Sure, you can say: we don't care about trust. Or come up with some real stupid argument like "the carrot and the stick". You can bash yourselves over your own head with that stick and eat the carrot alone. As long as Trump and those other people make up the US administration (including the tech-fascists and others who support those mafia-gangsters), there will not be any trust. Because they are dangerous madmen. Completely untrustworthy. Isn't that clear and obvious?!

Wow...thank all three of you for having this discussion

Resistance by Tad Stoermer upends the entire story of "American Democracy". Any conversation about the Constitution has to account for the role of the Constitution in preserving the rights of property, meaning enslavement.

New to your channel, thanks for a great conversation with Heather Cox Richardson. She is an American Hero to me. 🇺🇸🇺🇸
HCR has a superpower: Positivity

Carney is doing exactly what he needs to and it's fascinating to watch him and others create a new vision instead of going along with Trump's follies.

HCR you are an American 🇺🇸 citizen and Hero! You HCR are truly an amazing human being and American 🇺🇸 Hero 👏🇺🇸❣️

The Decoupling from the USA taking place by Canada, the EU and other Democracies is;.....
The Carrot and the Stick.

Such an interesting and intelligent conversation

The USA has not had Congressional approval for a war since WW2

The military is turning on Putin.

Thank you, HCR, for bringing up the great work Kamala did in Latin America. I learned about it by merely looking upif she was really appointed to be and "failed" at being "the border czar". Imagine if others took a few minutes to do the same, instead of believing the lies. It's the opposite of what was accused of her, and she did it in a humane way that benefited all.

I read it in my email daily!  Thank-you Ms. Richardson- we need you!!

Excellent discussion
