I met Chris Yates 2007. He did a talk at Ringwood library where I was living. Signed my Passion for Angling book. It's not for sale. Precious memory. Tight lines everyone!

I've always liked and admired Chris Yates, he's my kind of fisherman, old fashioned! I'm a few years older than him though. I still regularly use my cane rods and centrepins that I bought new in the 1950s.

I’m an expat that lives and fishes in South Australia, what I admire about Chris Yates is his continued enthusiasm in his traditional angling style that I try an emulate when and where I can… special angler, a one off, ATB for continued angling adventures 🇬🇧🇦🇺… quill floats rule 👍

I was out fishing with my brother yesterday, he had a high double and a 20lb Mirror. I joked that he was possessed by the spirit of Chris Yates as he caught them both on a float down the margins with a piece of cheese as bait

Love the story of how a liking for a sweetcorn and scrambled egg breakfast led to the next big thing in carp fishing bait, what a great bit of inspired thinking eh!!. Particle vaits here we come!!. Redmire really was the place of myths and legends back then, cheers Peter.

Fishing gave me a love for sweetcorn as we never had any in our house. If mum didn't like anything then we wouldn't like it, such a shame as we missed out on lots of tasty stuff. Mussels being one of them. It's funny how sweetcorn can work well at one venue and not in another. A day ticket fishery near me it's Chickpea that's the favourite thing.
