Dave Spitz called me a few years back about a bass I was selling. He's a very humble dude- total sweetheart, explained who he was and who he's played with. Once he saw that I already knew, he spent hours on the phone with me going through his entire career. It was an awesome time. On equal footing, one of Dime's longtime friends called about a Dimebag guitar I was selling and, despite having a raging fever/flu, I stayed on the phone with him till about 3am just listening to his stories.

03:39 Speaking of Ronnie James Dio-I met him at complete random in a L.A. grocery store in the '90's-had a great mini conversation with him and got his autograph too-one of the greatest singers of any genre.

I was a Big fan of all these groups !  But the Best Memory was buying a beer for Lemmy of Motörhead at the Show place in Dover NJ .
Having a beer with him, and just Shooting the shit was a truly a memorable occasion ! :face-turquoise-drinking-coffee:

But can you do??? The Milano mosh!!!

The Milano Mosh!

I've seen footage of the VH and Sabbath tour and Scott is 100% spot on.
VH was like a team of Pittbull dogs taring up the stage. I don't know if any band could have kept up them.

Love these little 'side stories' of Rock history. For music fanatics like me these tales from insiders on tour are Gold! Thanks for posting the clip an photos I've never seen. So cool.

I met Billy for the first time when he moved to Austin,Texas, he was working the door and semi managing at this metal club called Headhunters on Red River downtown while he was hustling getting his record label at the time up and going, he'd stand outside and just hold court, loud as fuck, being the typical Billy,lol..The second time I met him about a year later was way better because my audio engineering mentor Tim Gerron was making a record with a band from Canada and Billy was doing all the vocals for it. They stayed in Canada and Billy cut the vocal tracks at Tim's house so I basically was there for 3/4 of his vocal tracking and we had a blast, man...Smoked a ton of dope, laughed our asses off, listened to tons of Billy stories and railed on the government for days..Billy may not be everyones cup of tea but as far as Im concerned he is an extremely funny ,very intelligent solid dude,  and one helluva hardcore vocalist. Yes, he's exactly the way you'd think hed be, absolutely zero filter😂...Man does he have some stories, too!

Weird seeing a photo of Eric Singer in his pre-KISS days :)

I met Bill Milano twice. He's hilarious. First time was at the Brick N Wood cafe in New Haven, CT.  COC/DRI show. He saw that I was audio taping the show on the sly. He yells into my recorder IF I EVER CATCH YOU TAPING MY SHOW I'LL KICK YOUR ASS. Then, at a GNR/EZO show at Lamour in Brooklyn. I said look who it is, Bill Milano! He said I'm not here, this is a poser show, shhh! It was funny as hell

The first WASP album is fucking awesome and Blackie is an incredible singer.

I saw those guys on that tour at the Meadowlands   Ian Scott fell of the stage !! 😂🤣😂🤣

Love Scott Ian wearing a carpenters shirt.

I was at the 86 show in East Rutherford NJ , W.A.S.P. was the highlight of the show Anthrax was new and their stuff was unknown and Black Sabbath between songs you could hear crickets in the audience. W.A.S.P. had a great show with a great stage set with giant heads of the 4 members on rotating poles it was pretty wild . Blackie is a true Metal head with the vocals and song writing ability to back up his on stage attitude \m/

Glenn Hughes is awesome. He sweats rock and roll.

Another great story told from the book of metal here!  These have quickly became my favorite hard rock/metal pods to listen to on youtube.  Happy holidays to the full in bloom staff and I look forward to listening to more in the new year.

I went to this show to see Anthrax.

I was at the Los Angeles show on the 1988 Monsters of Rock tour.  I was a fan of all the bands except Kingdom Come.  There was an incredible amount of excitement at this show.  I was way back in the nosebleed seats.  When Metallica came on, the crowd rushed down onto the floor from the stadium seats.  It was assigned seating and not general admission.  They had to stop the show for a while until things settled down, but it became a general admission show after that.  Metallica was great, no doubt, but I've heard over and over again how they blew Dokken off the stage.  It's just not true.  Alot of the mainstream metal fans had gotten into more hardcore metal over the last few years because Metallica was so great.  In other words, the energy was already there for Metallica, and they certainly did not disappoint.

As a fan of Dokken, I managed to make it to the second row and had the time of my life.  There were many of us hardcore Dokken fans there singing everything word for word and screaming all the while.  Dokken were everything you'd expect IF YOU WERE A DOKKEN FAN.  The band seemed to be excited by the crowd's energy and put on a great show.  All of the bands were great that day.

86 W.A.S.P were headlining UK and Europe and Anthrax support act for Hetfield and crew Milano I think was selling hotdogs outside🤣🤣

I have to say that “Turn to Stone” from the Sabbath “Seventh Star” album is one of the greatest Sabbath songs, ever.
