Before the tears at Italia 90 and that unforgettable goal against Scotland, Paul Gascoigne was a young lad at Newcastle watching the first team and dreaming of joining them.

This video explores the footballers Gazza admired, from Newcastle teammates who inspired him to England players who understood his game and an extraordinary opponent he never forgot. Drawing on his published interviews and football history, this dramatised first-person retrospective revisits the skill, friendship and dressing-room moments behind those memories.

Travel back through Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and England’s unforgettable summers of 1990 and 1996. For anyone who remembers watching Gazza with the ball at his feet, these stories bring back a familiar era of British football.
