Randy Piper used to live in my apartment building. We hung out sometimes. Cool dude.

The only reason I would want a time machine is to go back and see all the early shows of 70s and 80s metal bands.

Headless Children needs more credit

Early wasp was awesome

The last command from start to finish is an absolutely great album, love early wasp!

Listening to these stories from WASP and the rest of the bands from the 80's really makes me miss that era! Thanks for this awesome reminder🙂!

At 14 years old, they were just what I needed.  I played guitar in a rock band and we covered a few WASP tunes.  Those were the days!!  My musical tastes eventually moved on, and I enjoy everything from old Outlaw Country to the Deftones.. but I have to say…  AT AGE 56, THEIR FIRST ALBUM STILL MAKES ME FEEL SO ALIVE!  I still play it to get fired up before a workout or a motorcycle race.

Holmes is the MAN for giving those dudes that helped out in the beginning their props

I played drums in W.A.S.P. after Steve Riley left... for about 4 months, preparing for the Donnington Festival in the UK. It was cool at first, but Blackie was becoming annoyed that Chris was missing rehearsals and/or showing up late (since he was riding a 10-speed bicycle to rehearsal... they took his drivers license). Being the new guy (at 17 years old!) Blackie thought he would pick on me or use me as his whipping boy every time he was disgruntled about something else. I was to follow a flashing red light on my snare drum to follow the tempo of the songs. These days we just use a click track. But this flashing red diode was the master here and I followed it to the letter. Yet when Blackie felt like speeding up he would make wild gestures at me to "speed up!" which... he wasn't wrong, the energy needed to ebb and flow with the song, however it's impossible to follow the RED LIGHT "Like it is GOD" he told me and also follow HIM (a lesser God) when he wants to speed up! So I said "Which is it!? Follow YOU or follow the red light?"to which he got pissed and I walked out of the room. He said "If you walk now you can just keep on walking!" I kept on walking. Despite the fact that in just a few weeks I was scheduled to play on the biggest stage in England at this massive festival. I never looked back. You let someone browbeat you like that it just never stops. Even at 17 years old I had enough backbone to stand up to Blackie. I don't have any ill will toward him. He's a legend and definitely has my respect as an artist. The fact that he's STILL doing this at his age is inspiring. Some other guy filled in for that one gig (lucky bastard) and then Frankie Banalli took over from then on out. Chris Holmes was the coolest one in the band. He was just struggling to get around town and with his health. Blackie was understandably frustrated what with losing his drummer to L.A. Guns and Chris's health issues. Chris is a class act, by mentioning the guys by name who helped W.A.S.P. in their early days with the sign and stuff. Russell Wallace was the roadie that was not let go like the others because he was the one who took me to get my Passport expedited. I was freaking out 'cause I lied about my age for the audition and now everyone would know I was only 17 but Russell was cool, he said he'd keep it under wraps. I'll say this, the drumming at that time was pretty intense. Kinda wild a 17 year-old beat out 30 other drummers for the gig, only to walk out 'cause Mr. Lawless was being too much of a d!ck to deal with!

Miss those crazy 🤪 early to mid 80s rock bands releasing debut albums and tours at clubs or opening acts for headliners. 😊 Great times.

Crazy to have pyrotechnics indoors. Luckily they weren’t an early Great White

Blackies Catolouge is severly underrated

Thanks for more great storylines from Wasp!  You do a nice job recreating the LA scene for people that never got to experience it for real.

I love seeing Full in Bloom show up on my feed. YT always puts it right at the top, knowing I instantly click;)

Last Command is a classic album and still one of the best releases of that era.

I always wondered more about the falling out of Blackie and Rod Smallwood.

I had alot of this stuff on VHS when I was in High School  in the 80s ,

So cool 🤘🏼I just  happened to be wearing my WASP tour shirt today !!

Chris really got screwed over.

Good job cutting in the interviews. It really added to the video IMNSHO.
