I was caught with a cinnamon candle in my dorm room and I had to plead my case with housing to not be removed, I had to participate in fire safety training, and then I had to write an essay. How is the punishment for assaulting a woman less severe than it is for having a candle??

I warned my niece when she went to college that campus cops are there to protect the college and the money behind it, not her.
She definitely understood me.

Remember, these are the people who go on to become CEOs and global leaders.

Lets not forget over a decade ago CONVICTED RAPIST Brock Allen Turner served only three months of his six-month sentence before being released for good behavior .

@PumpkinSpiceKitty 2 days ago

Why don't schools understand that if you punish the rapist and let the police handle it then you will actually be doing a good thing.

Cornell 7 were “punished” with essays

Pro Palestine protestors were expelled

Same year, same dean

Cornell saying 'consequential punishments were imposed' when the guys were literally assigned an essay is pure gaslighting

@TaraBoscawen208 2 days ago

The fact that she has to live with this experience while they go about their lives is so infuriating. That poor woman.

Cornell touting their "extremely safe" crime statistics while these cases go unresolved creates a much worse public perception than the honest numbers.

Imagine having your whole life in front of you and making it into a top university only to get violated and the perps just having to write an essay saying, "I'm sorry."

@michaelinscore257 2 days ago

Holy shit. That's not a punishment for rape. That's what you do to punish a child who missed their homework

@Eskimolz 2 days ago

Cornell defended rapists and saw the woman reporting her assault as an inconveniece. Truly horrible and hopefully every guy is sent to prison for decades and Cornell officials are fired.

I’m a current (female) Cornell student and it’s so upsetting that I’m forced to share a campus with known rapists, and I’m not just talking about the members of Chi Phi because this is a campus wide issue. Cornell makes such a huge deal about how it was the first Ivy to admit women back in 1870 but it’s still not creating a safe environment for the women they admit in 2026.

Also, I was a student in 2024 and the entire student body knew of the details of the Chi Phi case and we all saw the SnapChat screenshot. I’m not sure how the police didn’t.

I say publish the essays. Under their real names. Let that follow them around forever.

They didn’t just drug and assault her. They assaulted her for SEVEN HOURS. It’s so horrifying, I’ve lost sleep over this. Nothing compared to what that poor woman lost. Her entire life is fundamentally altered now because of selfish entitled violent men, and all the weak men who don’t hold each other accountable.

As a Cornell Alum I am fucking disgusted. For the record, this isn’t the FIRST or SECOND massive rape case like this on campus! Back in 2016 we knew about Psi U getting banned for rape charges! Insane!

@oblivianji 2 days ago

charge the rapists with rape, and also charge the people who secretly bail out the rapists with conspiracy to commit rape, and then put them all in the ground. no one's gonna learn unless there's a dire punishment to deter them.

@daphne10120 2 days ago

Why is it always “they are young men, we don’t want this to ruin the rest of their lives” and not “this young woman has had her life ruined by these men, who deserve to face consequences”. Men get off the hook with this shit in schools way too much. Rape needs a life sentence. And if you cover it up you get the same sentence, even if you didn’t commit the crime itself. This is beyond disgusting. Every person involved needs jail time. Every administrator or staff member involved and didn’t contact police needs to go to jail. Not following proper protocol should be considered a coverup and be charged as such. The school needs to pay tf up. Cornel should be absolutely ashamed.
