THE EQUALIZER 2 (2018) MOVIE REACTION - EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST? | FIRST TIME WATCHING

Binge Ties

We finally watched THE EQUALIZER 2 (2018) for the first time and Denzel is an absolute FORCE in this one 💀
The first movie already had us hooked, but this one gets way more personal — and watching McCall go after the people responsible was intense. Denzel makes it look effortless, the action is brutal, and that final showdown in the storm had us on the edge of our seats. Antoine Fuqua and Denzel are just a perfect team.

Do NOT get on Robert McCall’s bad side. 🔥

It was his wife's bakery, flour dust is highly combustible.

You’ll forgot in the first one he did set up an online service where people could ask for this help so that’s why.

The older woman at the end was the old man's sister that he had gotten separated from in the NAZI concentration camps in the 2nd world war. It ended up being more special to him than the painting that he wasn't able to get back. I love the small side stories in these movies.

They’re definitely not reporting this to Lyft. They don’t want it to go public what they did to that girl.

At the end when Sammy sees his long lost sister who he thought was eliminated during the holocaust, I can't help but cry. Each time. And I've seen the entire movie now 30 times.

You remember in the first one, at the end he put an ad online asking if anyone needed help to contact him.

Little Yummy was an 11 yr old assassin for the Black Disciples in Chicago. He committed murder, theft, and armed robbery, but he and his 13 yr old sister (a straight A student with no gang ties) was murdered by his own fellow gang members who feared he could become a "snitch" and expose their criminal activities to authorities if he were arrested. Denzel improvised that part. Anquan Fuqua said he had to research who Yummy was after Denzel finished.

Helping various people is the premise of The Equalizer which started off as a show in the 80s. There is always one main story of who he is helping but he meets people everyday that need help and so there are small side stories. The old man was torn from his family during the Holocaust and he has never found his sister. So McCall found her for him. 😭

My favorite part about this franchise is that Denzel gets it popping with little to no difficulty. We finally get someone bad ass enough where they just mollywhop anyone they come across.

56:23 Sam and his sister were separated during the Holocaust as kids. His only connection to his sibling/ family were those paintings he was obsessed with, and when the court denied him the right of ownership he gave up hope. Until this very moment he got something even greater. His long lost sister. And Robert made this moment possible for Sam

The old woman was the man's sister. They got separated at a Nazi prison camp in WWII as young children and haven't seen or heard from each other until now. Way more important than the painting.
