Clickbaiting with Jordan in a Blue Jays hat -- only to find the entire video he is wearing a Dodgers hat is absolutely diabolical.

I had a French teacher from a French colonized African country who always said “Oh lala…” as a phrase of disappointment. Like “Oh lala, these children are testing me.” And boy were we.

“Hating women with math” “hating women with charts” being misogynist so much homework 🥀

I misread the title as "hating women with Charles" and I was like hey what the fuck charles

his little cutesy tiered psychology chart is giving astrology

The reveal that the account "HoeMath" was talking about was entirely satire was phenomenal. You'd have to either be a comedic genius to stage that bit or this was just a case of BEAUTIFUL cosmic irony.

The funniest thing about incels to me is their insistence on how women will only date men more attractive than them when in reality I've watched the most beautiful women I know date the middest looking men to ever exist

the reveal that her video was a joke had me in hysterics, this guy made a whole ass video in 100% seriousness and didn't bother to check that the video he was scrutinizing frame by frame was satire all along??? i'm SCREAMING

[cant get over this guy saying that narcissus, famous figure in ancient greek mythology, was pronounced nar-kiss-us (wrong btw itd be closer to nar-key-sos) in the "original latin" because. oh my gods man if youre gonna pedantic you could at least take the time to be right]

Couldn't get the timestamp, but wanted to put my 4 years of high school Latin to work here: that guy's not even right about the "hard c" in narcissist, because Narcissus is from a GREEK myth

"Justifying misogyny with math" sounds like a turning point Usa debate tactic

54:15 why did i think that he was going to talk about how narcissist is a term that is often misused in a way that contributes to the stigma surrounding npd and cluster b disorders as a whole for a second before he spiralled into “so actually its all women who are narcissists. look it says it on my chart”

Holder of a BA in French and study abroad participant for 9 months in France here! (my niche has come!!!!). Yes, "oh la la" does get said in France, though not in the uppity way that we Americans view it, more as a "oh my god" equivalent. Other filler phrases (which have various fancy linguistic names nobody outside of academia know) include "euh" "bah" and "ouai" in place of the american "Like" "Um" and "uh" (not respectively, just as categories).

Binders with colourful charts and tabs are so fun, this is a shameful misuse of that power 😢

0:16 Lived in France for a year & work in a French-speaking environment: French people say "ooh la la" fairly often BUT it's not in a positive context. It's more like "oh la laaa..." (often followed by a dramatic exhalation) when something unfortunate happens, like when the other team scores in a soccer game or when it starts raining.

The fact that the AI is clearly replicating the voices of the cast of friends really bothers me. I'm not sure if any of the living cast members consented to that, but Matthew Perry sure as hell didn't, and now he can't. That "pizza's here!" line is so distinctly in his voice. Using the voice of a (pretty recently) deceased man to generate your word salad slop is so incredibly fucked up.

53:10 OH MY GOSH Jordan is so right about this, I was very unsocialized growing up, and I had a habit of being a “grammar police” and otherwise extremely pedantic. Now that I’ve finally had the chance to become socialized, I am no longer insufferable about that kind of thing 😆 I still care a lot about grammar and language etc., due to that being one of my passions/special interests, but without being rude, pedantic, annoying, or otherwise making people uncomfortable. The primary reason for this is because I care more about other people feeling safe and comfortable and happy around me, and the secondary reason is because—like one of them said in this video—I actually know even more about language now to know that language evolves, and “grammatically incorrect” language is actually incredibly valuable, unique, and beautiful in its own way.

So the other name that stood out to me in that reading list was Evola.

That's Julius Evola, the chief ideologue of Italian fascism.

That's specifically a book he wrote in 1958 about esoteric sex magic.

One quote from Wikipedia is "it goes without saying that he was a misogynist"

In court in 1951 the guy said although his ideas are linked to fascism, he's not a fascist himself. He's a superfascist. He literally said that fascism wasn't fascist enough for him.

There's a whole section on his wikipedia about Sex and Gender, and of course the final section about his influence on Neofascism points out that Steve Bannon cites him as an influence.

I edit Wikipedia sometimes on topics related to the molecular mechanisms causing Parkinson’s disease bc I did my PhD thesis on this topic and I have a constant edit war with someone who fundamentally misunderstands what an amyloid structure is vs an oligomers or just aggregated proteins. Editor wars are very common lol. Person with the strongest argument backed up with the most validated proof wins   Typically.

Jordan in something french completely shatters any universal logic in the Sad Boyz canon
