In 2011, a 24 year old woman vanished from a Disney Cruise that was heading back to LA. And what at first seemed like an open and shut “man overboard” case quickly started to seem like something much darker. Leaving us with the question, does Disney know more than they’re saying??

What is the most chilling part of this mystery for you? Do you think it was a cover-up? I'm reading your comments!

If a crew member stole 100 USD then suddenly there would be HD footages of every second of the entire incident.

Former cast member here. They know. They always know. I'm just hoping their settlement with her parents included the answers they needed to be ok.

the real horror was how quickly a corporation will discard the lives of their workers to protect their bottom line

“No One Dies At Disney” is the true crime documentary I’ve wished for since the 90’s when I first learned about their tactics and policies. I saw a live news clip back then (90’s) where a ride malfunctioned, and clearly injured the patron. A few minutes later that story and video footage was completely scrubbed. They have so much power, and they can evade transparency and responsibility. It’s horrifying.

My dad works for a Cruise Line. There are cameras covering every inch of the boats top to bottom so the fact that Disney does not want to release the cctv makes it seem overly suspicious like they’re trying to cover something or they are hiding something and don’t want to release it because then the truth will be revealed. Even when you go to Disney, you can count how many cameras are there when you walk into the parks.

Disney must have released the CCTV footage to the parents, along with a FAT compensation cheque, because what parents in their right mind would accept a monetary settlement but never be able to speak about their daughters disappearance again if they didn't know what happened? You could not pay me any amount of money to shut me up until I had answers.

Being in the middle of the ocean on a floating lawless ship with thousands of strangers just isn’t my good time

Gotta say, if Rebecca did take her own life, Disney is known to take extreme measures to keep their image as the 'Happiest Place on Earth', so an employee doing that ON a Disney cruise would seem to be the very kind of thing they'd respond completely disproportionately to. Just like how no one is allowed to die at the Disney parks. I think the reaction from Disney fits the suicide angle extremely well, sadly.

Oh hey! That’s my ship and that’s my department! You don’t actually hold onto your own passport, crew office does. You hand your passport off when you embark and they give it back when you debark at the end of your contract. You get a slip of paper called an I-95 that allows you to leave the ship that you show security before they scan your ID card.

On another note, the phone you see her using cannot make outside calls. It’s only able to call other landlines or wave phones on the ship.

The fact the family can't talk about the case publically is sketchy as Hell. Disney knows something they don't want to get out.

I was at a Disney associated theme park in the ‘90s. They had opened the park in the evening for our convention attendees. My husband and I were at a theater show, watching a woman narrating the story we were about to watch, when all of a sudden, she dropped through a trapdoor in the stage and disappeared. Because she was miked, we could hear her moaning. At first,the
audience thought it was part of the drama. Security guards walked up to the trap door, looked in, and walked back off stage without a word. Eventually, a person came on stage and told us the show was over and that we had to exit immediately. The next morning, we called the office to find out if she was OK. At first, they denied anything at all had happened, but we forcefully insisted to know. They then said she was fine and had a “scratch” on her leg. I’m sure it was much more serious than that-I still think of her and hope she was OK. 😢

I worked on cruise ships for 2.5 years and we never had anyone fall off the side randomly and there really is cameras everywhere

@angietreiner-williams 1 year ago

I worked for Disney and you basically sign your life away. All any ideas i had, belong to Disney. I can believe they know more than letting on.

Let’s be honest Disney hides a lot of mystery deaths and accidents so the don’t get sued

@therealdeal3866 11 months ago

Wait, are you telling me that a multi billion dollar organization that actually sued a dead child’s parents because they put Spider-Man on his headstone is evil enough to cover up a missing employee on one of their cruise ships!?

Someday there will be a reckoning, and that will come when Disney has been burned to the ground.

@MikeOnTheCamino 1 year ago

Follow the logic, if there are cameras everywhere and she jumped or was washed over they would release the footage, no scandal for Disney. The fact they did not release footage after the phone call, logically indicates the footage showed something that would hurt Disney's reputation.

@Wizzyz_Wifey 1 year ago

That’s just appalling that Disney would pay them to keep quiet when their daughter is still missing. Disney knows exactly what happened.

I'm with the detective that thinks she was possibly assaulted and likely murdered and that it was covered up

Hi, a happy cruiseship customer here. A really cool (and mildly creepy) tech used for surveillance is the medallion used by Princess Cruises. You wear this little circle, less than a quarter in size and under a quarter inch thick, on a lanyard or on a wristband. It tracks your position in ship in real time, and when you're at the bar the cashier can see your name and mugshot. It really is convenient, you can order a Redbull and hotdog while catching your breath after exhaustive trip to the convenience store. Every employee and each passenger has one, it also replaces doorkey. With this kind of thing questions like "where were you?" is simply eliminated. With this tracking and so many cameras, it assures rule following passengers and can probably deter the naughty- minded too.
