I remember reading Big Nate in fifth grade and  actually being inspired to draw my own comic strip. I just remember it was about a dog and I think it was called Buster. I was trying to do a story across strips like Big Nate did(I guess you’d call it an arc) without realizing all the strips had to have jokes in them. I also pretty much just copied the art style for the longest time, like I would draw eyes, ears, and noses like Big Nate probably just because it was a really easy way to draw people.

I need a dissection of the Ok Buddy Rosalyn subreddit after this damn

This is my comfort video

As someone who grew up with Big Nate this made me realize just how little I actually remembered from it, but it was fun to look back through this. Great video!

Also did not expect to get jumpscared by my friend’s artwork at 35:45 lol

I appreciate the Big Nate lore drop

For the record, I Love the Big Nate show, and I wish he got a reboot.

this video was incredible! ad a big nate fan i noticed that there wasn't much content of it on youtube. your video was amazing and keep up the great work 💪

The re gags can get repetitive sometimes. I also miss dr cesspool and action cat. And Peirce is pronounced purse, I also used to pronounce it the wrong way. W art btw. I definitely do not get the gilmore girls reference. Oh yeah and DOAWK fandom is so weird, the fan covers are crazy. Great video though, its nice to see Big Nate content.

Your videos are so underrated, I really enjoyed this video as someone who never read Big Nate.

Finally

Way underrated

I loved this video and found it through the Reddit page.

You did a good job talking about the characters, the re-gags, the comic and book series, the TV show, how much the franchise has meant to you, and the fandom itself. I have never heard of the Locker before and now I can never un-see it 😂

Also, your oc is pretty cute and would fit well in the Big Nate Universe.

I do have one question. There are Big Nate comic dubs out there and I have done some.

Have you seen those? If so, what are your thoughts on them?

I really appreciate the animation

Thank you, such a good vid!

I love your art style

sorry, i know this video's a bit old now, but i kinda wanna explain why i think American comic strips are so reliant on regags.

I'm not an expert or anything, but i think in general, Americans find repeating things kind of calming. i know this isn't an exclusively American concept, but i think it's especially prevalent here. I think this is especially true when there's also an element of relatability, it causes a kind of soothing effect. I know for me personally, i read a lot of big nate before bed for this reason, each strip is just unique enough that keeps your brain engaged but doesn't need too much energy.

Again, i'm not an expert, i just think that might be why.

I know you said Peirce is still going after it but Peirce has now retired the Daily comics, he now only does the Sunday comic

January SEVENTH!!

I like your accent.  May i ask where you're from, in general?
