I love watching people realise the massive impact this film had on pop culture.

When an anime, a spaghetti western, and a kung fu movie love each other very much...

FYI, most of the things that you hear or see that are familiar in this movie came from this movie and we’re later referenced, copied, sampled.

"it's sampled from a Kanye song."

Somebody fight him

FUN FACT. The Legend Kobe bryant. Got his nickname black mamba from Kill bill. Also Kobe got his symbol from the katana of these movies.

This movie predates everything you keep referencing. The music, other movies etc.

I’m old enough to have seen this when it dropped in theaters originally.  The 6 month wait for Volume 2 killed me.

I'm floored how  almost all people who react to this movie call her black and yellow outfit a bumblebee outifit and NOONE is picking up on the Bruce Lee reference! It's so obvious, I'm very pleased someone finaly mentionned it .

The opening fight sequence with Uma and Vivica is amazing.

Fun fact: the California mountain kingsnake is the only snake out of the six that isn’t poisonous/venomous. But poison seems to be one of Elle’s favorite choice of weapons.

The girl who plays GoGo was in a Japanese movie called Battle Royale (Some say the inspiration for The Hunger Games) that Quentin loved and wanted her in his movie! That movie is a huge part of the success of battle royale style games!

These two movies weren't just popular films, they were cultural phenomenoms. Arguably the most successful of all films by Tarantino, they reshaped pop culture during the 2000s. You will find countless references to them in music, film, tv and other forms of media. Many things that have become tropes ever since, were originated in this movie, and you will also hear its soundtrack used in many other movies. Kill Bill itself was inspired by the grindhouse explotaition films of the sixties and seventies, that's where its aesthetic comes from. Originally, Tarantino planned a third film to involve Nikki (the little girl from the first scene). He was supposed to film it ten years after this one to allow the actress to grow up. But eventually he lost interest in the project. Can't wait to see your reaction to the second one, really good as well.

The way they had no clue that this movie was the OG for so many references they knew is crazy.

Kill Bill (both volumes) have got to be one of my favorite movies just for sheer fun factor. The only way I’ve ever been able to describe it as the most ‘movie’ movie I’ve ever seen, it’s just made with such joy, passion, and eccentricity.

This was 2003, my dudes. Not the 90s. 😉 😊.
Maya Thurman-Hawke was a little girl about the right age for the fictional daughter.

Kobe 100% took the Mamba ethos from this film. I've been saying "Uma Mentality" for over twenty years 😅

Hattori Hanzo character is played by legendary martial artist/actor Sonny Chiba.

Corey is usually pretty stoic but his eyes were big and round almost the whole time. and he smiled the most i've ever seen him smile lol

also the editing for this vid was great 👌

Just to let you guys know, Kobe did say he got the whole alter ego of “black mamba” from this movie. He thought it was cool and he wanted to translate that to basketball to get away from the personal stuff he was dealing with. Which explains the logos are similar as well. Rest in peace Kobe 💜💛
