🎣 24 Hours. One Island. One Mission. | Anglesey Species Hunt!
Welcome back to the channel!
Twenty anglers met up at Bragdy Cybi on Saturday morning before setting off at 1pm to fish anywhere around the beautiful island of Anglesey in a bid to catch as many different species as possible during this exciting 24-hour rover competition.
Every fish caught had to be measured, photographed and submitted via WhatsApp, with points awarded using the official species scoring chart. Strategy, local knowledge and a bit of luck all played their part!
For this event, I teamed up with Alan Barnes, and we headed straight to one of my favourite wrasse marks. It certainly didn't disappoint! I managed to land four different wrasse species, along with a few other welcome additions to the species tally. Alan had a slower start but still managed to put a few fish on the board.
With time ticking away, we moved between five more marks across the island, searching for those all-important bonus species to boost our score.
🎣 Baits Used:
Own dug ragworm
Mackerel
Sandeel
Squid
Hermit crab
Peeler crab
The big question is... who came out victorious and lifted the trophy? 🏆
Watch to the end to find out how everyone got on and whether our tactics paid off!
