One thing to try in that situation might be to cut a side fillet of the fresh mackerel , big hook and run with small weight above . Fish with retrieve . Eg line you would fish a lure through the bust up .

When you see bass smashing mackrell like that there is only one thing to do. Catch the mackrell and Free line them for the bass. Deadly 👍🎣🎣

Mackerel are in at Colwyn bay fished the pier not my gear young man let be borrow a rod brought 65 back in 2 hours the lad sold alot to rose tackle as well
