I headed out with one plan in mind — to chase down thornback rays and flounder on a big spring tide. But after a chat with my good friend Arron, the plan completely changed!

I decided to abandon the original target and go in search of that toothy creature I've been after for ages. With a selection of fresh baits including mackerel, sandeel, hermit crab and ragworm, it was time to see if changing tactics would finally pay off.
