This video means something to me bro. I genuinely believe a sub can only cap out at a 9/10 for me. I need to hear it in my language for a peak experience. Yu Yu Hakusho’s dub is just so perfect.

finally someone said something  about the jjk dub, thank you. Don’t get me wrong it ain’t bad but it definitely has its flaws especially with some of the miscast and I agree with you all the way.

Now even though I’m a sub only guy, I will say there are dubs that are better than their subs such as:
Cowboy Bebop
Golden boy
Black Lagoon
Yu Yu Hakusho
Gachiakuta
FMAB
DanDaDan
FLCL
Baccano
Samurai Champloo
Trigun 98
DBZ:K/DBS
You and I are polar opposites
Space Dandy

Idk, Black Lagoon is my favorite dub of all time, some parts are so clean

14:55 Ghost Stories actually did very well in Japan, it even got a few OVAs, which wouldn’t happen if it had poor ratings. The person who originally said it did poorly in Japan is a well known embellisher. There was most likely another English dub that followed the original plot that did poorly in the Western market and the creator most likely reached out to the studio and gave them the green light to do whatever to make it popular in the West.

notice how you listened to my naruto c tier suggestion
i run this whole fucking channel

i think panty and stockings dub has to be an honorable mention for the best as it feel more natural than a direct translation but they make it better by adding jokes that weren't in the original Japanese transcript . the dub just make it feel like its an American cartoon than an anime  .and also nice vid

Imo the entire final arc of MHA has some peak voice acting in the dub

i would never think i was one day gonna watch a video abt anime dub tierlist 🥶

other great dubs that i recommend over the sub are: welcome to the NHK, haibane renmei, the big o, heavens lost property, alien 9, concrete revolutio, giant robo OVA, gundam war in pocket OVA, ancient magus bride, praraoina agnet, utena.

“I guess you can say anime dubs are dubs”

-Krispy King

This is easily the greatest praise Hunter x Hunter's dub has ever gotten.

4:20 Also Nobara's VA also voices Chie now, insane how she's the character you chose as a hypothetical lmao

Talking about "The peak" of anime dubs and not mentioning Baccano! Or Durarara!! Is criminal work

I like the gachiakuta dub

Space Dandy's got a real good dub. I feel that it complimented the series and its absurdity very well.

Welcome back Goat

0:35 Hitman reborn mention 👀

I rewatched Chainsaw Man dubbed with my sister recently after watching it in sub on my own. I really did enjoy the dub, especially Power

I really appreciate this video, and I think your takes on the dubs you mentioned are valid. Personally, my favorite anime dub is either FMA Brotherhood or Death Note. Both just elevate the sub in a lot of ways.

Black Lagoon has a fantastic dub. On par with Cowboy Bebop, dare I say.

I really feel that a good chunk of people that make complaining about dubs their personality trait either never got over 4kids dubs from two decades ago or are exclusively shounen fans that are confronted by the fact that a lot of stuff in shounen can get ridiculous when said in a language they understand.
