bro is john shonen

"Got room for one more?" Toriko says as he somehow plants himself in my marriage

“Is my OC noticeable?🥺” ahh character

The first friend thinking he’s Jonathan Joestar is a perfect example of how generic Toriko’s design is. Doesn’t help that his outfit looks like an urban version of Goku’s gi.

having Yusuke as Ichigos wingman is funny as fuck NGL

every pic that has this guy is the epitome of those “who is he???” memes

The Graggle Simpson of Shonen Jump

I HATE being the guy that says "the anime sucks but I swear that the manga is good" but that's exactly how I feel towards Toriko. Toei adapted a manga where every fight is a bloodbath and made it more censored than 4kids One Piece

''Jonathan doesn't smile like that''-got me dead lol

They genuinely thought this random dude could replace my GOAT Kubo and its embarrassing 💀

"Whenever Toriko is not on-screen, all the other characters should be asking: where's Toriko?" - Shonen Jump execs in the early 2010s, probably

“Uh-oh! Toriko that? Toriko this? I don’t Tori-know what’s going on!”

-Toriko after burning down an orphanage probably

2:28 Bro after spending one day on japanese duolingo

Im not even a fan of Bleach but this anime was done dirty, don't forget how the mangaka Tite Kubo got pressured by editors to end it faster

Love Yusuke trying to stop Ichigo from crashing out in the skit 😂

He reminds me of the "bro thinks he's on the team" meme😂😂😂

It's always Bleach that gets disrespected. The pressure of being a Bleach fan is only surpassed by Aizen's reiatsu.

As a Japanese reader who grew up reading Weekly Shonen Jump in the 1990s, I'd like to add some context.
Shimabukuro's debut series, Legendary Leader Takeshi!, began serialization shortly before One Piece. It became an instant hit and quickly established itself as one of the defining titles of Jump's golden era.
In 1998, before One Piece and Hunter × Hunter received their full TV anime adaptations, pilot episodes for both series were screened at the Jump Super Anime Tour '98. Legendary Leader Takeshi! was included alongside them, making it a special three-feature event consisting of Hunter × Hunter, One Piece, and Legendary Leader Takeshi!. That's how popular the series was at the time.
Shimabukuro was a genius of gag manga. Legendary Leader Takeshi! became a nationwide phenomenon almost immediately after it debuted. I was a 10-year-old elementary school student back then, and the boys in my class were constantly imitating Takeshi's jokes.
At the height of his success, however, Shimabukuro became involved in the infamous scandal. The manga was canceled immediately, and he was effectively pushed out of the manga industry. Until his comeback with Toriko, he had become something of a taboo subject in Shonen Jump's history.
Even so, his talent for comedy was undeniable. Despite the scandal, many fans, fellow manga artists, and editors continued to highly appreciate his personality and style. I suspect that support ultimately made his return with Toriko possible.
What has always puzzled me, though, is that after his comeback he almost completely abandoned the style of gag manga that he had been best known for. I don't know why.

HELL nah, I won’t take that Bleach slander, saying you hate it when you ain’t even read or watched it, blasphemy 😭

Toriko genuinely feels like an OC of what if you take Goku colour palates and make him have Kenshiro outfit.
