Now let's have a movie about wellington made by a Frenchman 😂

Heavy cavalry charging after skirmishers ha ha! This film was about as historically accurate as Starship Troopers.

This movie is only a joker's dream. At the end the joker wake up.

We should have never let Ridley near history again after he featured Landing Craft in his Robin Hood movie.

The only thing slightly accurate about this scene was that the Cossacks were used to harass the Grande Armee

If you want to see Borodino watch the Soviet film "War and Peace" instead of this utter drivel.

Napoleon didn't charge at the head of his cavalry. And why would he have worn his 1790s general's uniform at Borodino? He'd gotten out of shape and wouldn't have fit in it anyway...

Germany in 1812???? Borodino is 75 miles from Moscow, not 200.

Napoleon grestest mistake: Allowing the US to become what it is today and make this movie.

Holy crap this is awful. This has nothing on war and peace. Also whoever wrote the script seems to have forgotten that St Petersburg was Russia's capital at the time not Moscow

Not all artillery ammo was explosive. There was the usual cannonball plus grapeshot and canister.

Ah, yes Boridono the Battle where Napoleon lead his entire army in a charge straight a the enemy center

I love how their are many people out there like me that grin or grit our teeth at minor historical inaccuracies because we are such... military history lovers? Snobs? I dont know but I am one. Anyways, if you are going to show 19th century Cossaks wielding a bow (yeah I saw that nice try Scott), then at least thanks for giving those cannons some decent recoil. The best part about the Borodino scene is the music

Wow so accurate the music is so accurate, it's so french not mongolian throat singing at all..

Lol at the Cannons recoiling before they're fired.

Why does this scene remind me of Dark Souls or Elden Ring?!

Warriors with Mongolian faces are Bashkirs. Bashkirs certainly took part in the Patriotic War of 1812, but mostly in cavalry units, their weapons were much more advanced than homemade bows, as they were mostly aristocrats. Of course, no one hung the French on trees like the Germans did with the Romans after Teutoburg Forest, this is a tall tale to show civilization in the lands of wild barbarians. The Kremlin looks ridiculous and absurd, and the French emperor sitting on the pigeon-pooped Russian throne is even more ridiculous. What was the director trying to convey?

What a shame - despite the advent of CGI an enormous battle is depicted here as a bit of a disagreement. Borodino was a massive confrontation.

This film is as accurate as a spaghetti western. The studio, producers, and director should hang their heads in shame.

Фильм "Кромвель" 1970 или "Война и мир" 1965 выглядят на порядок круче.
