as a bengali who doesn't live in the country embroidery and weaving is what connected me most to my culture, I highly recommend looking into various silver/gold techniques such as zardozi, golabatan, kamdani, karchupi

Regarding the thimble issue: I have been using leather thimbles that I made myself from a small leather scrap. I use two on my sewing hand, one (bigger one) on my thumb and one on my middle finger. They help BOTH with pushing the needle and with pulling the thread. Solid thimbles don't work for me and I don't like plastic, so this is a great solution for me that I highly recommend.

That flamingo piece is going to be gorgeous, I hope we get an update video on it in a few months/years.

The sound of scissors cutting fabric, specifically with the scissors touching the table, really tickles that part of my brain ❤

I've done two Kantha videos. My husband is from India and says this is quite popular there. I did one video showing how to do this by machine, for those with hand ailments, and a traditional table runner. It is so much fun and very relaxing. I used all size scraps, anything over 2" or so. I spiraled my stitching around the rectangle inward. The purpose of Kantha is to use scraps to make a covering. You can stitch in any direction and/or in any design. I added new scrap pieces as I neared the edge of the last scrap. This was much easier than getting stabbed by pins, cause, you know I'ma gonna get stabbed by the pokies! You also do not have to turn under your edges. If you leave them exposed you will get a "rag quilt" effect after washing.
Don't be afraid to try this and explore the process and make it your own.

I've had a blanket/throw I inherited from my grandma for years, and I always thought the decoration was rather unique but didn't think much more on it. Now I know it's kantha!! Cool!!

If no one else has mentioned it, the really long, super sharp needles look like Sashiko needles, probably left over from your Sashiko journey. I love them!!!

Fabric cutting ASMR, probably.

a Sashiko thimble may help "push" the needle through the fabric so you aren't pulling the needle with your thumb. It's a palm thimble, not on the tip of the finger

As a lover of brown clothing (Love a brown skirt with green shirt or mustard yellow shirt)… the stuff you call ugly is the stuff that I specifically seek out when I go fabric shopping. I love the fact that the City Sewing Room in STL has such a great selection of brown suiting fabric for aforementioned skirts 😂

The puckering on the Stools Holding Hands piece is so pretty! It almost makes it look like a seersucker material and the stitches melt into the fabric beautifully.

I really love the combination of the detached chain stitch and the running stitch!

a year too late, but I use a "needle gripper" to pull the needle thru. it's a thin circle of rubber, very grippy and flexible, that I wrap around the needle so I can grab it with barely any pressure to pull it thru.

In watching your various explorations of running stitch embroidery styles, I have come to see that my opinion of that stitch as being boring and limited only to utility (hand basting, etc.) is clearly narrow-minded.  With the addition of complimentary or contrasting color and/or textures and patterns, it can be a truly appealing art form.

I buy Japanese needles that help the needle slide through for this kind of work.  It makes a huge difference for the thumbs
