Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that Pongo and Perdida are possibly the best parents in Disney history?

I mean, think about it, they tried to leave the situation to their humans at first, and when that didn’t work, they decided to take matters into their own hands (paws?) and initiate the twilight bark. Not only did they locate their babies within a few short hours, but they immediately left their home and their humans to travel across the English countryside to rescue their babies.

The great Dane tells them that the puppies have been located in Suffolk, north of London, which according to Google is an 81 mile trek. So that means Pongo and Perdi traveled 81 miles through the English countryside, running through blizzards, trekking through the wilderness, almost getting hit by a car at one point, and crossed raging, freezing river Rapids just to rescue their puppies, only to immediately have to rescue them from two full grown (armed) humans. After all of this, they find out they now have not only their own 15 puppies to rescue, but they also have 84 other homeless puppies who will be immediately turned into coats if they are sent back to Cruella, and what do they say?

“We’ll take them home with us. All of them.”

They then manage to make their way back home across the 81 miles (with some help from other animals) while also dodging Cruella, Jasper, and Horace, and didn’t lose a single puppy in the process.

Pongo and Perdida, best Disney parents. Hands-down. I rest my case. 🙂‍↕️

"They're fighting dirty"
Literally says the man with a fucking crowbar 😭

Farmer's daughter here, and sometimes new born animals need to be vigorously stimulated to get them to take those first breaths, that's why they puppy came around when he rubbed it briskly.  I've done the same myself a few times.

Another animated movie about a dog that is an emotional classic, is Balto. I highly recommend it.

The Colonel is a sheepdog, my Uncle used to have, one looked surprisingly like him.

😎👍 Two other great Disney animated films about dogs are "Oliver & Company" (1988) and "Bolt" (2008). 🐶 I highly recommend both of them! 🐕

That's why Cruella wanted puppies, before their coats got coarse. Puppy coats are velvety.

11:39 No, that's legit CPR  for puppies

My Perdi came from a litter of 18 pups! Dalmatians are known to have quite large litters. They really are wonderful dogs. I do also recommend the live action. <3

Pretty much grew up with this movie, so the violence didn’t have as much of an effect on me, but that driving scene during the climax was suspenseful. Also was lucky to grow up with 3 dalmatians so this is a film that was very dear.

Hi, I’m totally blind and in a wheelchair, and I had the pleasure of watching this master piece on Disney + with discriptive video! I also have a 4 year old precious veagle named Purdita! She can be a little trouble maker but I love her! My mom and sister surprised me with her when she was 11 weeks old! She was gently placed in my arms as her introduction to me! We share the birthday, and I have a nick name that only I call her, when she’s a good girl and extra cuddly, I call her Babas!

After this movie, Cruella De Vil is labeled for life.

Keep in mind, not only are these two Dalmatians city dogs, but Dalmatians as a breed come from the Mediterranean.

I love this movie because it shows how dedicated and patient Purttie and Pongo are as parents, and Roger and Anita are the best pet owners

Fun fact, Bill Peet is mentioned in the opening credits a couple times (character design/story?).  He was a writer and illustrator of children's books, including 'Smokey', 'The Caboose That Got Loose', and 'Chester the Worldly Pig'.  He was one of my favorites when I was a kid, I almost had Smokey memorized, I read it so much 😁

Walt himself always said he didn't make kid's movies. He wanted to make movies anyone could enjoy of any age.

And yes, I love how ALL the animals came together to help this family in need. It's sweet

42:28 "Ahhhh, shuddup!" 😂😂😂

Love how Jasper has finally had enough of Cruella's mad obsession!

21:27- 9th Queen's Royal Lancers was a cavalry regiment of the British Army.

well now you have to watch the live action version from 1997. Glenn Close as Cruella scared the living hell out of me haha

You should watch the live action it’s really good 101 and 102
