How many trees are there in Mario Kart Wii?

The All Trees speedrun category has become a trend within a handful of speedrunning games. It's exactly what it sounds like: get to every tree as quickly as possible. With Mario Kart Wii having tons of trees across several different tracks, it only made sense to see how quickly they could all be reached. How many trees are there in Mario Kart Wii? How fast can you hit them all? Let's find out!

For anyone who's interested in trying this out, here's a link to my full run: https://www.youtube.com/live/VrvfoHvH...

Yikes! You must have taken a long fall to land all the way down here! Before you begin your journey back to the actual video playing at the top of the page, let me offer you the free gift of a subscription to a YouTube channel with a growing library of Mario Kart Wii content.

i thought this would be some video essay about how the trees drove the community insane and there were some spooky mystery glitch trees that made this an extremely hard question to answer but no, this is literally just a video counting all the trees

@julianbenali 2 years ago

It’s funny you asked “what is a tree” since even in real life, biologists don’t have a consensus on what counts as a tree.

"First thing first"

Me: a sponsor
Bean: what is a tree

@ThesacredRat-q2i 2 years ago

What truly makes a tree is collision and resemblance, a true master of biology.

@ACameronUK 2 years ago

“What are you watching?”
“…it’s complicated”

@xLatona 2 years ago

Does this count as self harm

@morgan270I 2 years ago

I honestly would not have clicked if you didn't put "Trust me, this is interesting" in the thumbnail lol

@DocDocGoose15 2 years ago

What I learned from this video:
1. Game developers like putting tress in games
2. A rock is not a tree
3. Mario Kart has a lot of trees

@scherscherilady 1 year ago

I mean this genuinely, but you've got a very pleasant voice for counting mario kart trees.

@shoegaze_enjoyr 2 years ago

bro really said "trust me, this is interesting" and its just him counting trees 😭😭

@rehype3899 2 years ago

Just so you know, the thumbnail works, i mainly clicked because of the "trust me this is interesting"

@sandrin0 2 years ago

at first I thought this video was going to be some kind of mkwii tree analysis video essay, but when the counting began it started to feel like a setup to a punchline, but the video just kept on going and the whole thing ended up being played entirely straight. a truly kafkaesque video if I've ever seen one

@pavlover_boy 2 years ago

you'd think that with the amount of times I've gone careening into a tree as a kid, it would be easier to hit every tree in the game

@Simon-ih5ev 2 years ago

From the title I thought this was going to be an animation analysis or something like “these two are the same tree model, but one is shaded differently. They still count as one”. I didn’t even know tree-hitting speedruns were a thing 😭😭😭

@EpicGhostShadow 2 years ago

The thumbnail made me think this was going to be an in-depth game analysis but honestly this was fun too

@passive-aggressive 2 years ago

Naming yourself the Lorax is actually so hidden and great

@isaacthered 2 years ago

Don't worry! Since a bunch of different plant species independently evolved into trees, scientists also struggle to define what a tree is!

@Azrage 2 years ago

I think you hypnotized me or something because I was so engrossed I didn't realize I was watching a man on the internet count trees in mario kart until like 120 trees in. I don't understand why it was so entertaining, but I want more so I'm subscribed now.

@TylerNinjaFortniteBlevins 1 year ago

1:02 I love that you said "resembles" a tree while showing a palm tree, because they're not botanically trees. I don't know if that was on purpose or not, but it was neat either way.
