I had a lot of requests for this song and how could I not do John Denver. We used to sing this song in our class when I was about 5 years old and it's one of the earliest songs I remember listening to.

54 years later and it's still moves people of every ethnicity, and it's still a BANGER!!! RIP John Denver ❤

Just saw about 74,000 people at an NFL game in Germany singing this.

I wish John could see this. Later in his career he did an interview and lamented that he was no longer on the music charts. He said something to the effect of, "I still have important things to say. I just wish people would listen to them. Through new technologies, John, they are listening. And they love what you had to say.

You've made it home, John, RIP 😢😢🥹

Watching people love this song actually gives me hope for humanity. ❤

I really enjoyed watching this, thank you for posting! I was in a bar once while stationed in Germany in the 80's, and a lone singer with a guitar was set up in a corner performing. He started singing this song and the whole bar crowd started singing along enthusiastically and loudly. Every German person knew the words! Being from the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia and a little homesick, it brought tears to my eyes.

In 7th grade our principal was a tough nun from West Virginia. At the end of the school year, she was being re-assigned. Our teacher taught us this song covertly and we sang it to her acapella on the last day. Ten seconds in she was bawling like a baby. I appreciate that moment much more now than I did at 13.

This song makes me homesick for a place I've never been.

It's not just a favorite in the U.S.; it has been recorded in 19 languages and is a staple at international events, from German beer festivals to piano bars in London.

Everyone wants to have a place where they feel like they belong.  I think that's one of the main reasons people connect so well with this song.

I grew up listening to this mans music and Im a better man for it

Even John Denver himself was surprised by the reach this song had. While visiting remote villages in Indian and Africa, they not only knew who he was but knew the words and sang the song.

The song hits, because everyone has been homesick it least once in their lives.

Annie's Song - another one of John Denvers' beautiful songs  💖💖💖

Its ok to cry over this song... it is designed to bring memories and the feelings of lost years.

This is probably the best country-western song ever written. It makes you feel something deep down about a place that feels good, even though naybe you've never been there.

John Denver had a mastery of melancholic mood in his best songs.  A feeling of the loss of the simple quiet life far away from the modern world.  He loved nature and the quiet life, but he himself lost some that connection as he became a superstar.  RIP John Denver!

Country Roads is one of those songs that feels like it always existed.

I knew John, and his mother and father. An old soul. RIP.
