4 things. 1) City has never accepted to play by the rules. They have consistently opposed the rules they are bound by as if it doesn't apply to them. 2) For over a decade they have, despite knowing they're breaking the rules, sought to find all kinds of ways to break the rules, again showing they have no respect for the rules, other clubs or the competition they play in. 3) UAE has threatened the UK government that severe punishment would sour relations between the 2 countries - openly blackmailing the UK government. 4) It is clear that their ownership is unfit to control a club in the most lucrative and profitable league in the world.

As a result of all this it is the right thing to expel City from all football activities until the club is sold to new fitting owners. The Premier League can not indulge such blatantly unethical and corrupt owners in the league.

I hate the argument of “they were won on the pitch” yes, they were won on the pitch…. By players who wouldn’t have signed for a mid table club. Let’s all be honest, aguero, haaland, silva, kdb etc wouldn’t have signed for a mid table club. Pep would not have signed for a mid table club. It’s the worst argument for not stripping them and the people saying that need to give it up. Like Roy Keane said, the players, if they didn’t know, should throw their medals in the bin.

I believe this is the tip of the iceberg for Man City’s cheating over the years. It doesn’t address later years, it doesn’t address secret payments to coaches and players. It doesn’t address potential match fixing via secret payments to referees.

After they've bombed them down to league 2 and stripped the titles, they absolutely have to investigate post 2018. I seriousely doubt they just stopped cooking books.

The doubling and tripling down by city executives is truly mindboggling. It's like they've never been held accountable for anything in their lives before and are surrounded by people who just agree with them 24 hours a day. Expulsion from the Premier League this season seems like the bare minimum punishment.

The worst thing for me is that they’re seemingly happy to keep dragging this out for as long as possible, lying to everyone including their own staff and players while their lawyers try to find loopholes and technicalities in the process of the hearing, even though the evidence is black and white. All the while the competitive integrity of the league is completely compromised. They would happily drag this out for another 5 years and be happy for the clubs to foot the crazy legal fees on behalf of the premier league. I really hope clubs remember the conduct City have shown here when it comes to suing them for compensation, don’t pull any punches and rinse every penny they can.

This will probably be the biggest EPL controversy in our lifetime, that said, the only option is relegation to League 2 (if that), they had 15 YEARS to build a team based on literal criminal activity, anything less will ruin the worlds view of the EPL.

The owners have to be forced to sell, they absolutely have to go, they cannot continue after this, they will break the rules again.

What about the period after 2018? That success is  all “fruit of the poisoned tree”

Do a Glasgow Rangers on them and kick them out to non-league football with a transfer ban and a strict squad limit. The EFL acted lightning fast with Southampton last season. The Premier League punished Middlesbrough equally swiftly back in the day, but Middlesbrough are only a minnow compared with Manchester City.
