I am always happy when I see a new episode drop from you Jeff, thank you!!  I appreciate your sober analysis and never ending quest to find the truth no matter what "theory" that truth will validate or invalidate in the end.

Your illustration of the 7th arch areas along with the 'probabilities' from the ATSB overlayed with the various searches was extremely helpful.  I have followed your work along with the entire MH370 saga with great interest and the overlaying of those two sets of data was one of the most clear and understandable explanations of search events to date that I have seen.  Well done!

The analysis you provided in this video reminded me of one of the things that has been troubling to me from the start, that being the lack of any surface wreckage or other evidence in the initial surface searches.  Of course 'the ocean is a huge place', however, if the prevailing analysis and opinions are indeed correct, the huge amount of initial surface searches were definitely in the right neighborhood yet there was absolutely nothing seen.

Unrelated to your topic in this video, one of the other areas that has never sat well with me was the radar data, or rather lack of radar data and any believable explanation from the Malaysian government when the plane made its unscheduled pass back over the island after the turn around.  I have always found the idea of a jumbo jet making an unscheduled flight across an entire very populated and modern island in a post-9/11 world to be unbelievable at the very least.

I hope they find it soon, but, I think it’s going to take another technological leap in equipment before it actually happens.

Occam's razor surely indicates that the most obvious answer is the most likely, not that the most obvious answer is the correct solution.

I have seen some episodes of Mayday where even planes that crashed on land weren't were the search parties had thought they would be. Because a plane is supposed to have a route, from A to B. So when it disappears they of course search along that line. But there have been many that get way off track. And they really had to look elsewhere. And then they find it, sometimes crashed into a mountain that all pilots should be avoiding. But yet there it lays in pieces on the mountain.

My point is that often they are not where people expect them to be. And this is with planes on land!! Something lost in the ocean would be a million times harder to find.

I sure hope the search will pan out this time

I’ve watched everything there is about MH370 and am excited whenever you put out a new video. I suspect there’s many out there like me, we appreciate so much what you do 💗

Jeff, thank-you so much for the nod.  It means a lot.  There was much to chew on in this one, and I am not sure I'm finished with chewing, but some things come to mind.  You were quite correct to point out that we've not heard a word from Ocean Infinity since Anthony Loke's announcement of the contract extension, which seems excessively reticent even for Ocean Infinity.  Just wondering if you have checked in with Kevin Rupp or any of the other "usual suspects."  You also mentioned something else that has always seemed strange to me: the disagreement between the BFO and BTO data early on.  That has never been explained, to my knowledge.  It seems that Australia simply chose the BTO and ran with it.  I've heard nothing about how, or whether, Inmarsat explained it. Likewise, there has been no word publicly from Thales, maker of the SDU, about the analysis of the data by either Inmarsat or DSTG in Australia.  Given the criticality of the SDU, I can understand its maker not broadcasting their input, but I can't think of any entity better qualified to assess the validity of their data's usage in this instance.  And a theory I've not been able to dismiss was brought up in one of the comments: the idea of a decoy plane with a clone SDU.  I have no idea whether such a thing is possible, but it would solve some problems and explain some puzzles.  I recall in Season 1, when you discussed the switch from Malaysian radar data to Inmarsat's discovery that the handshakes had restarted, the distance was too short for the time the plane had been flying.  And the SDU metadata was in a form unlike any Inmarsat had seen.  And if it were possible to clone an SDU, it would eliminate all the highly technical work required to reprogram MH370's SDU under very difficult circumstances.  Just some thoughts.  Great episode!

Just because we don't where MH370 is, does not means MH370 disappear in a big deep blue ocean, it's like looking at a forest and can't see the trees, we haven't look the right place yet, only ruling out where the wreckage of MH370 is not...

Some things that have always questioned,
1) did they assume the plane stayed in one piece? or was there a chance of a midair breakup? if it was a midair break up, they would need to be looking for larger plane items like its engines VS the overall shape of a plane. they may have overlooked its resting place if its broken apart on a large debris field
2) If it did stay in one piece, what if they did successfully do a water landing like the plane on the hudson. iirc, the only pieces found were flaps or ailerons which couldve broke off on a ditching attempt, the wings may have held together long enough that the plane could have drifted with the current for 30 or 45 mins and therefore changing the final resting place by a margin that could be out of the original search area.
3) because the indian ocean is deep, has anyone studied underwater currents? there may be a difference of current direction from the top half to the lower half of the sea again changing the trajectory of the plane from the surface to the bottom.
4) The last thing when they were pinging arc data, can they tell the height of the plane at the time of the ping, what if its like airport radar and the pings can only happen above a minimum height, what if the plane glided further than the 7th arc under the altitude of the pings? even 15 mins in the air still before hitting the water would drastically move the search area also.
