Im just happy he mentioned a bat in Gotham...

I don't think Hal expected to see John at all. I think he had a plan to fake his own death because he found out about Sinestro's escape. My bet is that the Laura Linney is working against the whole of the green lantern corps and working with Sinestro. Doing so by convincing the guardians that Hal is working with Sinestro and orchestrating the training of John. I think that what Hal was trying to piss John off to get him to leave so John wont end up as a scape goat for Sinestro and the guardian working with him, AKA Laura Linney.

Hal knew Sinestro would come for him and planed his own death to fool Sinestro. Knowing Sinestro was working with one of the guardians, because Sinestro knew about John. So Hal "took the fall" not for his crimes of causing destruction in Rushville, but for Johns crimes of stealing a firearm. Hal claimed that he killed the Manhunter with the stolen gun and wanted to pay for his crimes. Thus protecting John and securing an alibi for himself during Sinestro's escape. Since Hal knows a guardian is working with Sinestro, Hal knows he would be the obvious fall guy. This would also explain the shotgun trap, not for fear of locals but as an alarm if Sinestro walks through his door.

My guess is also that its one of John's parents that killed Hal, under the orders of Laura Linney. Also that guys newly forged ring was made my Laura as a test run for making Sinestro's fear ring. I also predict that at the end of the show Hal will take Sinestros old Green Lantern ring, John will keep Hals ring, and Guy will have his. I also predict that all three of them will face off with Sinestro armed with a Yellow Lantern ring and Laura. Sinestro and Laura will be defeated but escape. Finally I predict that Hal will be sent by the rest of the Guardians to hunt down Sinestro and Laura, then Guy and John will trade off protecting other planets in the sector and operating as a hero on earth.

But, his mom confirmed she lied to John about hal apologizing.

"I hope I mattered" 😔

The only clear cut thing established here was how Hal got the broken nose. It was the punch from John in the Café.

"we still don't know who DCU Batman is"

I'm gonna wager a guess and say it's Bruce Wayne

Bernadette admitted that she lied but she felt as if Hal wanted to apologize when John listened to her voice mail after bailing out of jail.

Noah, a man-hunter, killed Hal. Jon and Hal's Consciousness Backup uncover this. Then, Hal is resurrected by Sinestro and becomes a Yellow Lantern, like in the comics.

when they said the ring was decommissioned I thought that would mean the ring wouldn't work now, completely inoperable. but that's crazy it still does lmao

This episode made me feel like he isn’t dead

The only thing that bugs me about the theory is that Burnadette apologizes for lying to John about Hal wanting to apologize. So, he didn't try to get John to Rushville? I dunno - mysteries abound with this excellent writing.

Hal knew John would have to retrieve the ring to activate the halogram in order to open the vault via voice recognition.

As somebody who defines myself almost entirely by my purpose and moral compass - I empathise a great deal with John’s fall. It’s embodied in his eating meat now, his cursing, his general bitterness. There is something extremely corrosive about not living up to your own values and standards. Giving the ring back was the right decision at the time, but it left him unmoored, and he’s been trying to claw back some sense of purpose ever since.

Holy sht dude, such a good drop with the airplane lady. Made me almost spit out my drink. Great work!

The real Jordan was the one talking to John Stewart’s mom noticed how Jordan at the café was confused when John brings it up

2:12 this was my biggest gripe. We know he did stuff for the president and was pretty well known. It was also pretty obvious that Zoe was the one blowing up the town with the satellites. Even the people of rushville should on some level realize that if she was considered an intergalactic war criminal and then used innocent people as fodder that shes to blame. So even if rushville blames the lanterns for not leaving well enough alone, which still doesnt make a lot of sense, i dont know what Hal Jordan could be tried for.

I figure Episode 7 will give us Hal's story- childhood, training w/ Sinestro, and end revealing how he "died." This show gets better with each episode, and I am HERE FOR IT.

I finished the episode, and your video is already posted. You the man Colton!! 😃

This is the first video of yours I've seen, and I'm really glad YouTube's algorithm suggested it. I've been trying to find a Lanterns weekly analysis just like yours, but all I could find was hour-long videos on "105 Easter eggs!" Ain't no one got time for that.

I'm instantly a new subscriber. Thanks for your thoughtful insights!!

Thank goodness you're videos arent longer than the actual episode. appreciate ya!
