I didn't like the constant unnecessarily distorted fisheye lens visuals, maybe trying to look a little goofy.
It just looks bad imo.

Having seen both the Snyder and Gunn Supes movies, I can at least describe the story of Man of steel where I can only vaguely describe a few scenes of Gunn's movie. This alone says a lot.

I'm a massive Superman fan. I wanted to like this movie so bad. I like David as Superman. But the movie doesn't come together. Very meh.

I’m still baffled that making Superman’s parents villains hasn’t got more backlash from the majority of the general superhero fandom. I’m seeing fans willing to let the lore in this DCU be disrespected especially with the Lanterns show. It’s in your face that these writers hate superhero’s and want to deconstruct it to serve their own egotistical interests.

When the best part of your Superman movie is the side characters , you have a problem 💁🏽

Pretty amazing how everyone who watched didn't give a second thought to how hawkgirl just outright kills a head of state. James Gunn must have really wanted to write a Justice Lords movie, because that's exactly how they started.

This has been my issue from the time it was announced that Gunn would be the new head of DC:  Does he have any actual depth of character? What i mean is , does he himself understand morality well enough to make a character as  moral as Superman? He has NEVER shown us through his characters that he understands morality. He has shown dozens of morally ambiguous characters and a few shallow basic good guy traits for hero characters when it suits the story. Not everyone actually understands deep moral convictions. Would anyone believe that James Gunn could write a Captain America story in the same way Steve Rogers has been depicted in the MCU?? Gunn has shown zero evidence that he has that capacity. Superman is basically Steve Rogers with a cape from another planet. Even as a young man his convictions are already developed. That is a key element of being Superman or Captain America. All this to say Gunn’s irreverent gen-X vibe is NOT suitable for this character.

In hindsight, the overall  comic-book tone of this family movie is at odds with both idea of him being sent to conquer earth (and its women) and also recent DC shows being more explicit. I have no idea what to make of this universe.

At least with Henry Cavill he was challenged and pushed farther than any other screen Superman was. It was a bold way to show Superman learn and grow. A real man, with tough choices, experiences and regrets.

23:39 I was watching my hands in this part and wasn’t looking, when I heard the laugh I just knew it was about Supergirl Bombing 🤣🤣🤣

21:07 I would beg to differ, because when people go to the movies and then go tell other people that the movie was bad that is a direct correlation with the box office

I honestly think people have lowered their standards for a movie being good so much, That shit like this is considered “CINEMA”. Same thing goes with the new Spider-Man movie that came out these are at best average movies.

You can tell everyone involved in this movie thought it was a master piece but it's a master piece of 💩

The message from his parents was added into the movie because james gunn directed a different movie before this  called "brightburn". Its a horror/parody of superman and in that movie this is a plot point. I guess it was a stupid nod to it. Also the dimension luthor uses im pretty sure is a stupid version of the phantom zone

My problem by far with the movie is how 1/4 is Superman in a movie called SUPERMAN
1/4 is Justice Gang 1/4 Journalism 1/4 Lex Luthor im not even joking i dont remember long scenes with Superman doing anything powerful until the end of the movie
he is a punch bag the entire film . . .

Agent Mulder and Scully would have been able to take down Lex's whole scheme. 😂

21:26 this is also true, what you said. Now don't get me wrong Man of steel is more recognizable than James Gunn Superman

Forget the past. In the next movie, they're going to team up superman with lex who just murdered someone!

I don't know why Gunn decided to skip all the fun parts, claiming that no one wants to see an origin story. He skipped everything! We missed Clark discovering his powers, his very first save, his first day at work, and his first date. It feels like such a dumb move because origin stories are so straightforward to pull off and can be amazing when done right—just look at Iron Man, Thor, Spider-Man, or Batman .

As for what the next movie should be about? Justice League as t Supp work goal? And  married and having a kid as his personal arc? Damn Gunn you make your life so much harder

It also makes zero sense for Lex to want half of Jarhanpur if he has his own personal universe where he can do what he wants.

Seriously what could he do in his own country that he cant do in his own universe?!
