DC has spent more than a decade at this point promisisng stuff then not delivering, why would it have been any different this time?

James Gunn cancelled whole Maat Reeves projects like Arkham Asylum series, Catwoman series, Poison Ivy series, Penguin S2 got no greenlight, Batman part 2 delayed part 3 is on danger. Reevesverse mogs whole DCU. Gunn is so insecure as hell.

its honestly frustrating to see Gunn put more time into characters like Jimmy Olsen or Rick Flagg than Wonder Woman or Batman.

Spider-Man made more in a day than this universe wtf

The Gunn has officially jammed

The thing is
I feel he tries to use characthers less people know
But the main issue is timing
You cant do a Waller or Jimmy Olsen show
Without having the trinity already
You have to focus on the biggest hitters of your verse to built a solid timeline
And then when the bases are solid you cab add the extra characthers

James Gunn should’ve built the DC Universe around the Big Three first: Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. Introduce supporting characters and potential heroes naturally throughout those three movies, and if audiences connect with them, give them their own solo films. Then gradually build everything toward the Justice League.
Instead, starting with side characters feels backwards. It’s like Marvel deciding to build the MCU with a Mary Jane solo movie instead of Spider-Man. Give us the foundation first, establish the core heroes, and then expand the universe around them. That would’ve made the DCU feel much more organic and earned.

James Gunn has to be the worst head coach over dcu.

How have these executives still not learned that shared universes are an incredibly risky idea. Marvel's was king, and now it's a complete mess. DC failed at it the first time, so why did they try it again?

Gunn the Fraud

The authrity was the worst planned project by dc - the authority wasn't even the part of dc originally and they just later added in - let us dc fans get some dc projects even including Ninja turtles would be way better than having this slate.

give me me batman, superman, gl, flash, tt, etc litterally wht's wrong with giving us simple projects in place of some peacemaker and authority and now clayface

James Gunn actually fumbled GotG trilogy, Ronin, Ego, The collector, Adam Warlock and Drax all experienced character assassination. Ronin as an actually competent villain in the first movie would've made it great and the dynamic between ronin and thanos could've been expanded on. GotG should've fought Ego as an actual planet. Drax humiliated from the jump throughout his entire mcu existence. Adam Warlock was undercooked in GotG 3.

See, I do not think this was laid out well from the start…Freaking SWAMP THING?? REALLY? Along with all the other stuff. Making movies using characters from a main characters story but not using the main character?? Making a Wonder Woman show..that doesn’t have Wonder Woman..Making Batman villain movies when Batman hasn’t even been introduced yet, etc. This was a mess from the start because all Gunn does is make things HE wants to see…

I don't see why people are surprised this is normal for Warner Brothers if it's not Batman approved

The DCU never had a great plan. Cresture Commandos, The Authority, Waller, Paradise Lost (with no WW)! That’s not a good slate.

Even now, everyone’s waiting on Clayface. That was just a random that’s thrown in. It has nothing to do with the overall DCU but instead of making it an elseworld, the DCU is wants to claim the film even though it wasn’t produced to add to the DCU at all. Im not even counting Clayface as a DCU film bc they’re saying the event if Clayface was set before Bruce Wayne was born, like WTF. How is this even a DCU film other than they produced it.

Beyond that, I don’t get DCs fascination with making villain projects. I know people liked Joker but I hated it and it was a one off.
