Queer people of color characters are allowed to exist in media but it’s more digestible and palatable for predominately white audiences having that QPOC be coupled with a white person and/or be written colorblindly and to not explore the intersectionality of their race and sexuality and gender expression. That’s like the only type of rep we get in mainstream media and it’s long drawn out.
If anything, can we at LEAST see interracial relationships between minorities, like black + latino or latino + asian or black + asian or even indigenous + ANYBODY??? There’s just too many possibilities out there for interracial couples representation for these folk keep using the same damn “white + racially ambiguous minority but most likely mixed with white” formula!!!
