I miss when it was a competition just to race on Sunday.

Seeing Carpentier just reminded me of meeting him and his crew chief when I was 8. This would’ve been before September California, when they were sponsored by Sears for a couple races. My dad took me to a signing since he worked for Sears, and I commented to Carpentier and his crew chief “I hope she makes the show”, followed by them both looking baffled that I knew they weren’t locked in.

08 last peak year a lot of big teams still going home

That Schrader car looks great

Amazing how competitive these guys all were! I mean a half a second seems like nothing, but is the difference between pole and not racing.

7:33 Incredible foreshadowing by the broadcasting having Larry talk about HoF Racing’s failed alliance with JGR, just as the Furniture Row 78 car is rolling down pit lane in the other screen 😂

I have to admit that 10 Valvoline scheme looked awesome.

Oh the good old days when NASCAR were NASCAR. No joke

9:14 good grief, loose truly is fast!!

People want that fall 07 cup dega 2 qualifying

Were provisionals still in use in 2008? Or was it exclusively top 35 at this point?
