“Sex sells” branding is a trap for people who are ridiculously talented, beautiful and have something to offer. And I’m not saying she can’t do anything grown and sexy but it should remain tasteful, alluring and strategic (like early Beyonce). Not whatever that swarm scene was. 😢

Her excessive hypersexuality has been a major turn off to her core audience because she had marketed herself as a wholesome alternative black girl in Chloe and Halle. This is not to say that she doesn’t get to grow up and be sexy, but it was painfully obvious that she was selling force feeding sex down our throat to gain the general public’s attention and it was too much. This sudden switch was a turn off to her core audience. Instead of taking the criticism and dialing things down, she said “fvck you, I’m grown!”and a lot of her fans were like “BET!”. She became indistinguishable from IG baddies. All those follows from showing her body on Tik Tok and IG did not translate into fans that are listening to her music.
There are ways to sell sex without doing too much, she should have taken a page out of Beyoncé’s book on that since she wants to be her so bad.

I hate when celebrities like her think that childhood to adulthood transitions always have to be wild and crazy and classless and raunchy. You can transition from childhood to adulthood with class and with integrity too

I still say she separated from her sister too early. She and Hailey were supposed to have atleast 5 full albums together before going solo. Beyonce had a number of albums with DC before going solo. I believe all these challenges she's facing could've been avoided had she stayed with her sister a little longer

She messed up her own image by losing all of her class by acting over the top

Chloe Bailey’s music career is a cautionary tale about when “selling out” goes wrong. The general public rejected Chloe’s hyper-sexual re-invention—they labeled it “forced" and "inauthentic.” She was left with all the damage to her brand, with none of the critical or commercial success her albums needed to justify the rebrand.

But who told Chloe to do all of that. AS SOON AS SHE let the duo- she put on this hyper sexuality that at the time, all I heard was that people didn’t want this- that it was too sexual, that people wanted her to lead with her amazing talent and then a lot of her content seemed to be started by her. It’s been like that since her “Buss it” challenge. I think the public BEGGED her to go the other direction and she didn’t. She ran the other way and told US that we need to accept that this is who she is and she’s not faking anything. Now, she’s turned around and want us to feel bad for her. Nah Chloe, we TOLD YOU it would go this way. She’s not the Sinners Character. She writes, she produces and I remember her saying how much of her own hand was involved with her image AND music. It just didn’t work. Maybe too- she could stop being so combative to her fans- look at how she handled the Kanye stuff.

Timbaland is trying to replace musicians with A.I., so I don't understand this collaboration.

her issue is she came outas a solo artist trying to be baby Beyonce in a certain Beyonce era. She should have waited to come out with her own sound and identity

Her work with her sister was amazing and refreshing. Her solo music is generic and boring that’s why nobody is buying it

She dropped the ball when she was popping her kewchie in her debut performace at the vmas... compare that to beyonce's crazy in love at bet awards....

The Swarm situation kinda reminds me of the Sydney Sweeney vs Zendaya debate. I think Zendaya had a no nudity clause in Euphoria but Sweeney was gunning to show it all. Gradually Sweeney became Cassie irl and now when she plays Cassie everyone just sees Sweeney play herself. Back to Swarm, Chloe was moving like Syndey Sweeney but in reverse. Nobody saw the character hunched over in Swarm, they saw Chloe Bailey. Like Sweeney, at that point, you arent that far away or different from being an OnlyFans content creator.

She should have never came out with the 304 aesthetic..... folks are tired. SMH

I think long story short when it comes to her, the music just isn't hitting. The stans can blame everything else under the sun but if the general public isn't rocking with you, they just aren't.

Similar to her "brand", the music is loud and all over the place. While she's a talented singer, songwriter and producer, things just fall off the rails when she puts it all together. I really like her as a personality though, and I hope she can at least find her lane in acting.

I need a more videos on Chloe. Her career fascinates me

I was never a fan of Chloe and Halle but I knew who they were. I remember being so turned off by how sexual Chloe was once she went solo. It seemed so forced and unnecessary. That scene in Swarm was the nail in the coffin for me. That was absolutely ridiculous

It’s so disappointing that Chloe chose to go down the generic “sex sells” route for her debut thinking it would be a good way to introduce herself as a solo artist. I remember her saying on a live that Parkwood gave her and her sister total creative control over their artistic choices. It seems going down that route was a conscious decision based on what she wanted to present & how she wanted to be seen as the “bad bitch” type of aesthetic. She has so much talent and is now trying to rebrand by showcasing her producing ability, but I think for a large portion of the public it’s a little too late. They’ve already passed on her.

Her sister is in a lane of her own. Very authentic.

Chloe don't do nothing for me. It always feels so forced with that girl.
