I'm not a girly girl, so how my hair looks doesn't make or break me. I will never put another relaxer in my hair. Endometriosis almost caused me to bleed to death.

I’m not here to knock what the lovely woman is saying truly to each their own ❤ but I personally don’t find these things extra at all. I love my hair care day and keeping up with my routine. I pre poo with flaxseed, wash and condition my hair with mane and tail, reapply a flax seed leave in (a mixer I make myself) and seal it in with blue magic hair grease and a dab of avocado oil on my ends. My hair has gotten thicker and longer ever since I started being more consistent. The same way some would call this too much others would say not at all. It goes both ways. Everyone simply has their own preferences and tolerance levels.

That’s why I keep saying do what’s best for you and YOUR hair. My hair routine is so simple and last week was my first time wearing my big chop AND my natural hair for the first time after years of back to back relaxers and my grandma damaging my hair (plus me thinking I could do my own hair in middle school) I don’t even really have a routine. If it’s feeling dry, I add a little product or oil if I need to. If I was forced down to a routine I would probably implode

The reason natural hair seems so overwhelming is based of how everyone has started making their routine seem better than others . One will say use this product, another will say no it bad. They will all go for what is trending instead of what works for them that's y some women dislike this natural hair community including me.Also some use so many products it looks lyk overconsumption.I only use two products ad only wash and moisturize my hair that's it. I have no routine.

The worst I've ever heard is don't let your hair touch your shoulders!!! Yet girls are trying to get to shoulder length and longer!!! WTH?

this is why I don’t always go onto tiktok or social media in general for any sort of advice on haircare or just anything because they’ll always tell you to do a whole 20 step rontine and by so many things, all I use for my hair is a clarifying shampoo, a deep conditioner, a conditioner for co washing and some leave in products and my hair is amazing. you don’t need so many products or expensive ones or even touch your hair so much just to have healthy hair :)

As a  natural girlie I only use shea butter and shampoo and my hair is still past my shoulders😂

Honestly I agree sometimes I feel like it's quite excessive and my head can't store it all so on my wash days I just make a to do list according what I feel my hair needs and go with that. 1:44

5:39 Lol,wearing my hair out was the mistake for me, I planned to wear it out for about a week, but could only do so for 5 days before putting it back in protective styles cuz I had a whole lot of single strand knots😂😂 Different things for different people I guess 🤗

LCO is all I do.
Clip my ends when it sheds excessively.
Wash day. Wash and condition and I deep condition.
If I leave my hair out I know to twist it up or at minimum protect my ends. Before bed.
That’s it.

I get all you're saying but washing your hair once a month means you're a dirty person. There's no other argument.

I stand by your hair communicates. You might just not understand what it’s saying but when your hair is breaking, it’s saying something! whether you need protein, whether you need moisture, whether you have a vitamin deficiency or you’re just being too rough with it — it’s saying something.
