What stands out to me is how much this moment reshaped public trust in government. You can almost trace modern political skepticism back to this era.

Nixon in public: "I earned every cent."
Nixon in private: "A million dollars? We can get that."

Richard Nixon’s entire presidency is one that interests me so much. Every time I watch something having to do with Nixon or about Watergate, I learn something new! He is just an interesting character

I didn't think it was Dean who revealed the taping system, but Butterfield. That lady gets details wrong.

health and energy level has a lot to do with being press ready for a conference .

That first on screen graphic is wrong. That oval conversation between Nixon and Dean was March 21st 1973. If it had been in 1972 the 2nd Watergate break-in hadn't happened yet.

Hearing her say that the Kent State shootings were a stain on Nixon's presidency is so crazy to hear considering if our military did that in today's presidency, there'd be no repercussions.

In 1960, my mother asked my grandfather if Nixon would ask for a recount. He said of course not, as many dead people voted for Nixon as for Kennedy.

If Nixon was president today, he’d get away with it and wouldn’t lose any power at all. People would double-down on trusting him and him alone. Hilariously, the famous quote that ruined his reputation forever - “If the president does it, it’s not illegal” meaning that the president is immune to all laws - is now the official law of the land, declared by the US Supreme Court in 2024.
