The Most Dangerous Man In America is the Oscar-nominated riveting story of how one man’s profound change of heart creates a landmark struggle involving America’s newspapers, President and Supreme Court — a political thriller whose events led directly to Watergate, Nixon’s resignation and the end of the Vietnam War.

Dan was a friend and neighbor on Las Flores beach in Malibu. He was facing 125 years in prison at the time I knew him. Federal Judge Matt Burne dismissed the charges shortly before Nixon resigned. His book about nuclear war planning was published 50 years after the Pentagon Papers were released. Dan had those nuclear papers the entire time but felt the nuclear papers would compromise national security. So he waited fifty years and published the book before Dan passed away.

Gerald Ford withdraw all troops from Vietnam in 1975.

Dan's story is highly relevant after wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, and now Iran.

Since my life of sixty years I do not recall a decade where there was not at least one of the following, sometimes more than one and two...a war a financial crisis, a pandemic (usually by bad animal husbandry, profit) or natural phenomenon, it's a constant war of attrition on humanity by what seems to be an evil force, call it the human stain....

This was very informative!! It’s truly an abuse of power when those we entrust to lead us, LIE to us. The courage & independence of the press is crucial to a functioning democracy!! It was fantastic how the newspapers protected the public’s right to know. Respect for all who do the right thing even when it’s hard🇺🇸🗽🦅

Every war is a war on lies, profit making, exploitation of countries resources, riches, sovereignty, and all about intelligence agencies making billions and trillions for corrupt corporations and bankers. It’s all built on lies. Poor innocent ppl ..so sad

Erlichmann writing on a document that he authorises a criminal act so long as it cannot be traced, i.e. leaving a trail leading straight to himself by requiring deniability, is just insane.

This exactly shows the clear National Security risk associated with liars being placed in positions of power in government. This is why it should be illegal to lie about anything when it comes to anyone working in government. Liars need to be caught and removed from power for any proven lie before they end up telling the big lies that threaten National Security.

President Kennedy had issued a resolution before he was murdered to start pulling the military out of Vietnam. President Johnson cancelled this resolution shortly after he became president.
