These are some of the wildest stories in Reddit history, so naturally I had to see what all the fuss was about. I regret several things. Mostly learning what a poop knife is.

Not me screaming “WHAT!!!!!” at the top of my lungs at the brother saying he’s pissed OP embarrassed his fiancée? Je telephone a la police! LITERALLY.

Listening from hospital drugged up to eyeballs perforated bowel. Charlotte good

The first one is relatively easy to figure out. OP was praised and made out to be a hero for stepping up for someone else's child. The brother got jealous of his attention and wanted to minimize his brother's kindness. He decided that there's no way his brother would adopt someone else's child unless he knew it was actually his own. Lied to his wife to carry out his pathetic plan. Now he's upset because, not only was he not able to steal his brother's thunder but, he was embarrassed in the process.
To do it in front of the child though... that's on both (brother and wife) of them. Gross human beings.

First story brother is one of those red pills that thinks ALL men ONLY care about LEGACY/BIOLOGICAL children and men and women ONLY spend time together to hookup, therefore his brother and his best girl friend were OBVIOUSLY lying because there is zero other reason a man and woman would be close enough for the man to adopt her child in case of her passing.

As a fully licensed director of operations for a local financial advisory firm for almost a decade I can confirm that sending account/investment specific information via an unsecure format like text is a huge no-no. Regulatory requirements might allow for appointment confirmations via text message if using a service that allows a firms compliance office to document and log that correspondence is one thing but to inform a client of something like that via text just because they didn't answer your initial call? Absolutely not. She could 100% submit a formal complaint to her financial advisor's BD if she wanted to and there would be some serious repercussions.

As an adoptive mom, I can see how that didn’t come up. It’s not something we openly need to tell everyone since it’s irrelevant. My kid. Period. A lot of people don’t know. Some do.

Story #1: Illegally getting a DNA test from a minor (two charges: minor and without consent) is unforgivable especially if she used a private company. Now the child’s DNA is in that database. I’d report it to the company/agency and formally demand that my child’s record be destroyed.

First story, I HATE with a BURNING PASSION how stigmatized adoption is. I’m adopted. From a different country in fact! My family has a different race than me. Do they hide it, no, they literally can’t. Do they make a big deal about it, no, I’m a member of the family, end of story.
“Your daughter isn’t yours!” And? Point being??? I hate people who make blood relations such a big deal no it is not

10:11 what really pisses me off about this is what if she had been right? She was going to potentially blow up that little girls entire world because she couldn’t handle her own bullshit trauma. I would never be speaking to them again. She was completely OK with the possibility of you finding out your daughter wasn’t your daughter and walking away from being her parent. Giving her up to foster care. ALL BECAUSE SHE HAS MOMMY ISSUES.

@megwilkinson1191 1 month ago

First story...IF the daughter was blood related to OP then he wouldn't have had to adopt her...she would already have been his.

I'm calling our bathroom "The Chamber of Secrets" from now on. But I'm thankful I've never needed a poop knife.

@TheMason189 1 month ago

1:26 FULL STOP. Mad respect for this dude for even considering it and THEN stepping up. ❤

@Ottermamapoeia 1 month ago

I'm convinced that the brother in the first story wanted to prove his own moral superiority and bring OP down a peg. So he manipulated his fiance with her trauma to perform the DNA test. That's why she was actually sorry once she got out from under his influence

@Evil-Overlord-ChocolateOz 1 month ago

If I were offered $2200 for replacement for a device they accidentally broke, I’d accept before they finished speaking.

What a fool.

A fool always tries to take advantage when they are already advantaged.

Serves that creature right.

1st story - Mike needs his GREEN 💚 Flags!!! I love how he stepped up and took Lilly in as his own. BLESS HIM!!

@megandelynn6114 1 month ago

My sister says "Assumption is the mother of all fuckups" and it's almost always true!

@smashingpunkings 1 month ago (edited)

DNA tests are $250 minimum so they double played themselves for literally NO REASON and the whole thing was literally none of their business

@kinamonsterrawr 1 month ago

That first story is heartbreaking. Even forgetting the legal stuff, can you imagine if the kid didn't know? What an absolute POS the brother and fiance are to do that in front of the child. It's unforgivable. 😮

Lottery husband, has the right to be shocked. It might be taken as a nest egg “in case” or she doesn’t trust him at all.

@JessicaO490Z 1 month ago

29:04 I mean it depends where you live and it might be different in Canada. But most states that I'm aware of any lottery winnings before you're married are like inheritance. If you don't call mingle it, it remains solely yours... So that is her money not his money. And honestly, if she had told him about it, it would probably be completely gone instead of them sitting on being halfway to retirement.
