Remember when this series was advertised to be more adult and mature than G4 was? Oh what could have been....

He went from "Positive and Exited for G5" to "Please be good PLEASE" to "... GRWUAAAAAAH!!!!"

“How do cutie marks work in this world?”

Well Star Strike, it works however the writers want them to work, and not even they know themselves, at this point.

G5 is feels like High Guardian Spice, the only difference being that HGS did not have legancy to tarnish. I honestly had more fun watching random G1 episodes, in between chapters, than actually watching the chapters itself.

Part of me wonders if ChatGPT was the true writer of G5, with how it forgets its own plot and rushes through it.

I think the biggest issue is the writing. Like the animation could be excuse considering this was made on a netflix budget, but everything is all over the place and inconsitent story wise!

Truly is sad seeing what this series has become.
Defenders blame others criticisms for being g4 purists or whatever nonsense, the thing is, a good majority actually liked g5 when it started with the movie and where excited for its potential.
But that potential is forever lost after the movie.
Which is why so many just lost their hope for it.
But hey, they can keep calling us g4 purists lol…

The true tragedy of g5 is not for living up the success g4, the true tragedy is that it couldn’t live up to its own potential

Ever since chapter 6, I just give up on g5 entirely, I tried being positive but I guess it wasn’t enough to make the show any better

Do you guys remember back when we had genuine hope that this generation would be good

G5s plot got more holes than a cheese factory

G5's continuity is more chaotic than even Discord himself

Honestly I still wouldn't have had a problem with G5 even after Chapter 6 if it wasn't for the fact that it canonically is in the same universe as G4. Unless they pull a "this is a Starlight Glimmer alternate timeline" at some point then it's really just taking everything we loved about G4 and tearing it down with Twilight carrying an idiot ball the size of the moon. It's sad to see what's become of a franchise that really hit such a high bar with G4.

As a warrior cat fan… yeah I saw this coming. Any warrior cat fan can agree that just like the series, keeping something going for too long when there’s clearly no more ideas to work on that is not only somewhat original but also good is a recipe for disaster

Remember when everyone was hyped for G5 and genuinely had hope for it to be good? Not as good as G4, but enough to be decent to watch?

Yeah, me too.

This series was super sad to me. I was really hoping that a beloved franchise such as this would receive more love then it got, but they didn't seem to care that much

And now that it's officially over, we can say that G5 got sucked into the black hole created by all the plot holes.

Ah yes, The descent into madness, This is the stuff I subscribed for!

“It’s so popular with the target demographic”
Where?? Literally where? If it was popular then why tf is there barely any merchandise or hype around it. I legit see a ton of kids talking about G4 but literally barely any talking about G5. Even kids know it isn’t good and the bad marketing doesn’t help with that 😭

So you see, everyone, this… this is why many people are critical in their analysis and critique of media. Most people want shows/books/movies to be good because we can appreciate the effort it takes to make something function, it’s not easy feat. This show, as well as many…. MANY OTHERS are being dunked on by regulars and fans alike for a lot of nonsense that are expected to “aCcEpT tHiS! DoN’t AsK qUeStIoNs! It’S gOoD!” We all want good things and simply accepting what they give us, especially when it’s so poorly written just shows how fair critiquing any work is.
Keep up the great work!

I feel like it should've been better if G5 was it's own universe, like how G4 was

I loved My Little Pony new generation at the beginning, I was so excited for the series, when it came out I tried hard to like it but I couldn't 😭
