Iran is raising tensions around the Strait of Hormuz as conflicting reports emerge over fresh missile activity. Initial reports of a ballistic missile launch from the Bidganeh base were later disputed, with available accounts suggesting the missile may have been heading towards the test site instead. Separately, reports claim multiple anti-ship missiles were launched toward U.S. Navy or U.S.-escorted vessels, with explosions reportedly heard across the waterway. The claims and exact targets have not been independently confirmed. The developments come after an IRGC Navy official warned that Iranian forces could target U.S. vessels and destroyers as far as the Indian Ocean if another war breaks out.
