Vinnie going off in the 4th quarter - 15 points including 7 of their last 9 points.  He was dealing in the clutch.

The Microwave with one of the most underrated and underappreciated shots in NBA history.

Awesome victory for our Detroit Pistons in 1990! Back to back NBA titles!

Nuthin but net on that final Microwave bucket.  That guy was amazing.

NBA on CBS aired its final game in 1990
- Hubie Brown transferred to TBS and TNT
- Dick Stockton remains in CBS before moving to TNT and TBS in 1994.

Jerome Kersey and Kevin Duckworth both died really young.
These  games were the days of competitiveness and a pride to win. No flopping, no yelling for fouls and no weak ass self congratulating

This is my first memory of watching an NBA game

Pistons last NBA Finals game until 2004.

Such a fun game to watch, thanks for posting it. But this game 5 in 1990 was nerve racking, as my mom and I were watching the game at home, rooting for our Bad Boy Detroit Pistons to finish this series off. When Vinnie hit a shot earlier in the 4th quarter, Dick Stockton said, "Vinnie Johnson hits again, and if he gets hot, Rick Adleman is going to have problems."
Thank God, Vinnie did get hot, scoring seven in the last two minutes, including the Championship winner with 00.7 left on the clock. That locker room was nuts! It was so cool watching the guys celebrate Back-to-Back NBA World Championships! And I celebrated too, with a little bit of my own bubbly!!

1990 was the year that CBS Sports had the Super Bowl, the NBA Finals and the World Series.

Super Bowl: 55-10
NBA Finals: Five games
World Series: Four games

RIP Rick Adelman

Last NBA game on CBS.

The final NBA game on CBS to date.

I had this game recorded on VHS, but it is long lost to history 😮

Knicks winning other night in game 5 reminded me of this game.

Dumars got cheers in Portland and im not even shocked lol

Paul Allen the new kid (owner) on the block in 1990, putting together a generation of winning and consistency, loyal humility where overachievement was the norm in Rip City. No titles to show for it though.

Everyone thought this series goes to a 6th game. Vinnie wanna make sure the Pistons will NOT lose that game.

IMHO this was when the 80s unofficially ended

Before The NBA moves to NBC
