In all fairness the sun is objectively really hot

Wait, the book my wife got me as a joke almost 20 years ago is actually valuable. Wow.

How Oozes give birth: One Ooze. Slash. Two Ooze.

I have never laughed so hard, because I was a goober 22 year old, reading the physical copy my friend bought.

6:13 Any anthropologist or archeologist will tell you the words you're looking for are "ritual fertility item".

One of my friends I played with actually HAS the BoEF physically. Like, she brought it to the game to prove it, and we did use some of the items and spells. This was situational and agreed on by the table. It was HILARIOUS.

However, that crossbreeding table was one of my favorite lore items in D&D because it gives a layer to the lore of the Realms.

I’ve unironically used that crossbreed table when creating different hybrid PCs for fun. Had no clue it came from this expansion lol

The first chapter being described as "gentle guidance and setting the tone" is so appropriate for setting boundaries during sex.

Honestly the change to the charisma stat to make it two things, looks & how charming you are is pretty good.

I joked about how Kinks and Cantrips feels like the modern take on this book and honestly, stand by it. Both these titles have a surprising focus on the safe, sane, and consensual parts as much as they are the gooner parts. You can definitely tell this one was written in 3.5 tho, just with the sheer weight of word blocks and charts.

The tattoo and piercing sections really should have been in regular edition. The ability to have extra options is always valuable.

In regards to "appearance."

AD&D Unearthed Arcana introduced Comeliness back in 1985.

Gray/High Elves received a +2 to their rolls. Half Orcs a -3

I'm old enough to recall the "Comeliness" attribute making a brief appearance in, what, a double-digit Dragon magazine? Weird times.

I actually own a copy of that book because a friend of my dad did. I love both the biology-chapter and the "how to use pre-existing spells for our books context" part.

Like, it's basically "how to R34 with magic" and I genuinly love it, since it gives roleplaying versatility to things you'd never use in it (like Ewards black tentacles or Grease), even if it is for a topic most people just fade-to-black to. I just appreciate when books do this since not everyone is a creative genius.

I remember back in the 3.5 days, I had the book in PDF form. Admittedly, there isn't a lot of stuff in it that I was allowed to use at our table, but my Ultimate Necromancer build used a few pieces from it, including Wrappings of Gentle Repose, didn't prevent you from becoming undead, but kept you perfectly preserved. Which was PERFECT cause my guy basically went full Imhotep being a perfectly preserved Mummy!

I also at one point had my Mummy mate with an Elf while using "Blessed Seed" or something which bypasses birth control/difficulty and guarantees the baby was like half-angel, or Aasimar. So I had an Elf mother birth an angel...because she slept with a Mummy, the family tree is wild.

Now you can check out its even seedier counterpart the "Book of Unlawful Carnal Knowledge"

Honestly when I read the book the first time I was kinda shocked how like… straightforward and informative it actually was in just giving an insight to how sex and erotic concepts can and already do fit into the fantasy world

1:57 "Lawful Evil" = "a switch who adheres to standards of negotiation and consent," apparently. Good to know.

8:50 that was kinda standard for 3.5e.  Whenever they introduced a new spellcasting-adjacent mechanic, the book for it would have three classes (full-caster, half-caster, weirdo) and a dozen or so prestige classes, usually mixing the new mechanic with a base class.

3:12 Three Dice? That's an Odd number. But I'm listening.
