It's really mindblowing how this guy managed to get all women to appear on his video. This is like the biggest collab ever.

Thank you for inviting me, All Women, onto your channel. That's called representation, and you have now won at it 🏆

Being stuck with random stat rolls is why the term "snake pit" came about.  If you rolled really terribly and couldn't get the stats needed for your character, then that character jumped into a poisonous snake pit and died and a new character would be rolled up.

I'm surprised she went with "False" for the celibacy thing, because it really just sounds like real-world priesthood in Catholicism. "I wanted to be a priest, but then I met my SO, so I became a teacher instead" isn't that uncommon. Take that to a world where deities enact the consequences of breaking their rules more directly, and... Well.

For those who remember GURPS, they had a rule for being completely naked called "bulletproof nudity", men got a +1 to defense, women got a +4.

I used to love reading the letters section of Dragon Magazine. I remember people arguing over several months whether or not there could be women wizards and the main argument against was because wizards have beards.

"We're going back 50 years"

Oh it can't be that long ago after all I was only born a few.....

oh....  oh dear.....

Why is it only Humanoid Monsters. Because no DM wanted to deal with the mental imagery of  A giant spider being seduced.

As a high-level ugly woman, I will only say that everything in those old rules is true. In fact, I have to be careful when I'm flirting with men, because they keep dying around me... but, having witchy magic is pretty awesome.

A friend of mine once tried to make his own roleplaying system. He enthusiastically told me and his then-girlfriend of some rules ideas he had for more realistic play, like needing to go to the bathroom. Interesting choice, sure, but then he added "I'm also working on rules for menstruation". His girlfriend (who is now his wife) got SO mad at him, saying "if you make rules for menstruation, I'm not playing - I roleplay to escape things like that". Thankfully, he got the message.

Fantasy Trip (another 1970s TTRPG) has a Sex Appeal ability, that is mostly for seduction. It can also generally be used to make enemy take the character alive to be dragged away in slavery instead of enemy delivering a killing blow if the character loses in combat. This enslaved character can then try to escape or be rescued later. Also it was available for both male and female characters. Thank you for pioneering inclusive sexual enslavement, Steve Jackson Games!

You know, it may come from a misogynistic place but I like the idea of spells that do different things depending on certain ability scores

Just to clarify, these are the rules from Dragon magazine, I had a ton of them from the early 80's through the late 90's, plus a couple of the 70's issues. IDK, there was SOME good stuff in there but there was also a lot of crappy rules. I remember getting my issue every month and just hoping there was some good stuff in there. Sometimes I would be pleasantly surprised but mostly it was stuff like this that we never, ever incorporated into our games.
So, just to clarify, the only "original" rules for women was the whole -1 to strength when creating them. That's it. I was there when the old magic was written.

"it also implies that men can't be beautiful" literally those words in a row actually hurt like damn 😂

OMG. Ginny saying i am all women with such deadpan was not on my bucket list but damn if I didn't just ruin a monitor with coffee spray.

I generally play fully randomized characters with unoptimized classes, cause its more fun to play flawed characters

High level women are magic. Incredible.

"It's so misogynistic that it loops back around into being a female power fantasy" I couldn't stop laughing when I heard that.
I do just love that female rogues get magic because.... witchcraft? Hilarious that they actually just made them objectively better in something because spellcasting is awesome and almost certainly worth any trade off they may have added.

I feel like this video doubles as "Why people thought D and D players in the 70s, 80s, and 90s have never had a conversation with a woman."
