the best show to binge all in one day

Omg. You should do the show ADULTS

This show is a case of having the perfect name because literally everyone is overcompensating to be the person thwy think they're supposed to be.

This show was super good and needs more recognition than it gets. Desperate for season 2

“These freaking straights they keep tempting Benny” lmfao

This show scratches that specific itch that I have been missing for quite a while.
Im a Benny and Miles shipper. I’m waiting for a POV change episode focusing on Miles revealing that his bi and that the halloween party incident was him freaking out about how close he was getting to Benny that night.
I think the main heart of the show for me is Benny and Carmen relationship and low key Grace as well. Their relationships are so interesting and all their parallels going with eachother. Carmen slowly becoming the third sibling is my favorite thing. I’m a fan of the trope of someone being adopted by a family.

Once I clocked the black girl erasure in young adult tv shows I can't stop thinking about it😭 I sideye both the creators of Overcompensating and Adults because of this issue.

I’m pretty sure the reason she kept saying to have a threesome is because she wanted to be with a girl and that was a subtle way of her being able to do it. I thought her being at least bi was pretty overt and not that subtle

benny and grace’s parents have a dynamic that work so differently between the two and there’s this common theme of parents shaping the lives and mental state of the children. for benny: overbearing parents leading to a lack of control in life, not knowing who he is and not being able to choose what he wants for himself thus not being honest with himself pertaining to a core part of who he is
Grace: inattentive parents, overshadowed by her younger brother as the parents are over-involved in his life thus leading to  no time spent on building a meaningful relationship with their daughter
Carmen: inattentive parents, always overshadowed by her brother and never actually knew who she was either as she followed in her brother’s footsteps and once he was gone, so was the attention from her parents, and sense of direction in life; neglected, ignored and shunned.
You get to see time and time again with these 3 characters (and even peter/miles) that they all mirror and mimic the personas of those around them: Carmen did it with her brother, Benny has been doing it since his high-school years,  Grace with the other college girls whilst also dampening herself for peter, Peter (though being an a-hole) very obviously puts on this exaggerated show of who he wants to be because ultimately, he’s  scared of being alone

family its time to gather around the tv for another nysclips banger

Your breakdowns are always revealing new things to me that I didn't realize on a first watch. They're just so amazing, thank you!

That intro was so relatable.

It should be concerning how many times I rewatched this show and this one season 😭

Benny and Mary Beth are gonna love this video, the tally of Benny's lies is giving that "another one, thank you" meme LMFAOSDIOHADGHJFSDGHSDF

Yay you’re the first person I’ve seen make a video on this show! I watched it all in one sitting like best show I’ve watched in a while
